MSD TFI Blaster Coil clicking...

I just installed a MSD TFI Blaster Coil. It makes a low clicking sound at idle. It is a function of RPM. Is this coil just louder than the stock coil?

It doesn't appear to be coming from the stereo. I still hear it when the stereo is completely off. Using a stethoscope, it is definitely the coil. I have new 9mm fms wires. I checked all connections.

The car runs great. No stumbling or hesitation.

Any ideas? Is this just normal behavior?

HISSIN is correct....NORMAL.
I had the same noise coming from my MSD TFI Coil when I had the old 5.0 in my Stang.

Yeah, mine did it too. It was really annoying sitting at stoplights. It was more of a buzz or hum in my car. It lasted a couple of weeks, but then the noise went away. Maybe yours will too.

Hey, I'm serious! Mine quit making that noise after a couple of weeks...or maybe I just can't hear it anymore since I put on headers and a full bassani system. Anyway, the car sounds really nice. I like the coil, despite the noise.

MSD has this response about the noise. It irritates the hell out of me and I get stupid looks. I'm going to try my hardest to get rid of it.

I was thinking about getting this coil, but that sounds annoying. Do other aftermarket coils do this?

The MSD on my wife's does the same thing, but the Crane on mine does not for what it's worth.

I have an accell 300+ box and coil...the coil doesn't make any noise, but the ignition box buzzes....ehhh, is that normal? oh, and that rubber thing works for the msd, I did it when I had my tfi.

I have a Summit Racing coil and it does it. On my car, it sounds more like a cricket. I think all of the E core coils make noise.
