Any1 running a muffler delete system? a friend of mine came by on his 07gt and he just installed what he called cutouts, it basically 2pipes that stick out between the cats and H and can be closed off with 3 wing nuts for a stock sound. with it open however it sounds awesome! loud, deep and mean. problem is with the pipes sticking out right under the dash area it makes stuff rattle a bit. with a full system all the way to the back would it still make anything thats loose rattle? are there any drawbacks to a mufflerless system?

Theres a fair amount of people running these kind of systems. Its really good at the track some people like it driving around town. Driving on the highway the loud noise it makes is almost deafening. You can get its that have electric cutouts which pretty much means you press a button or flick a switch and it either opens or closes pretty cool. It def. sounds mean when done right. Im sure you can set it up so everything doesnt rattle, where abouts im not sure.

Is it possible to just go to a muffler shop, have them remove the mufflers and weld in a straight pipe? I live in New Mexico and while im sure sound laws are in place, theyre not enforced, no one cares lol. Another question, what are baffled tips? I was thinking of doin this, if possible, and replacing the stock tips with 4in tips, and if baffled tips tone down the volume a bit (just a bit) going that route.

I'm running the SLP Loudmouths as well. I love them.

You can very easily have a muffler shop do the weld in job. If you are going to replace the tips and do a custom muffler delete, I'd just as soon get the SLP system. Bolts right on, and if you look around a bit, you can find it for a hare over $300 shipped. Wouldn't be much more expensive than the custom job + tips, and you'll have the option to return to stock very easily when you go to sell the car.
