Alright, I've got a new digital multimeter that I'm trying to figure out if I"m operating it correctly. A few things I'd like to do is check the resistance of my FMS spark plug wires, TPS voltage, IAC, etc. When checking for resistance how do I know which setting to put the meter on? Same thing with checking for voltage? How do you know where to put the dial on the meter? Basically I want to know how to use this thing.
For resistance, especially for checking the plug wires, what setting do I use? 20M, 2M, 200K, 20K, or 2K? What do each of those settings mean?
For voltage which do I use and for what? There's AC 600 and 200. Then there's DC 600, 200, 20, and 2.
While were at it could you explain the DC mA (I"m guessing milli-amps or something).
The little so called "operator's manual" for this thing is good for nothing but toilet paper. Absolutely NO help at all in figuring this stuff out.
