The idea of a club is to have fun and meet/hang out with people with the same love for cars regardless of make, model, bling or their ability to work on cars. It's also a way to help the new generation learn and get help from the more seasoned guys. Every club has members that have attitude, take your statements for example.

I agree totally. Two of the reasons that the Beaverton area starbucks and Dairy Queen meets are so fun, is that they are both informal and diverse. People show up who are in Mustang Wranglers, as well as people who have never been in a club(like me). Some of us do all of our own work, others do none of it. Some are into open track, others prefer drag racing, while several simply hit shows. There are young and old, mechanically inclined and clueless, as well as those who fall in between. I like pretty much anything fast, whether it be a civic or a lambo. I'll be curious to see what shape this "club" ends up taking. Regardless of how it plays out, it will be nice to have a broad club of fellow car lovers.

O.K. Guys, you think you have it rough???? Try living in Clatsop County where every cop you see hits you with radar when your doing 25 mph in a 35 mph speed limit zone. There are a few Stangs here too and I think us locals would love it if you ever all got together and cruised in just to get them off our A$$ for awhile...if we all don't drown before then.:SNSign:

After reading the posts on this topic a fewe things really stand out to me:
1. Websites, let alone are a pain, let alone trying to keep one up to date and current. If you look at most companies, their professionally done sites are usually worse than most clubs.

2. Information is hard to come by, and keep interesting. How many times can you talk about the same thing? I myself haven't had time to even do my profiles for my own club.

3. Life is hectic, most of us have 1 or 2 jobs, kids, multiple kids, projects, everybody else's problems and stangs to help fix. Typically it can be hard just to be able to show up to a cruise or meet.

4. There is light years between the difference of meets and shows. Nobody care's if one or two individuals don't like something or someone at a meet. There are those who will go on crusades about shows, because they didn't get what they wanted, etc. etc. It never ceases to amaze me the depths and lengths some people will go to within our community.

5. While it is nice to cruise and meet, they by nature require little effort. Shows on the other hand require massive amounts of effort planning, financially supporting etc. Most shows that last only a few hours, take the better part of a year to organize.

I guess you can find fault in anything. The question is what are you willing to do to make it better? Lasty time I checked, helping fellow Stangers was a major part of the game.

Stang/Ford cruise in

I'm serious about getting a cruise-in AT THE COAST. We have had all kinds of cruise-ins here but I have yet to see Stangs. Theres the corvettes, the funny cars, camero clubs...all cruise in, I'm even sure there have been Stangs in the mix, but not all at once in a group. Do any of you flat-landers even know how beautiful it is here in the summer? No offense, but thats what the locals call "city folk". Seems to me you the ones missing out during the summer. Yeah the cops give me a hard time, because they KNOW I play with my car, they just haven't caught me yet. When they do...I'll put my hands out the window and surrender....with a big a$$ grin on my face.:SNSign:

I nice ride out to Ft. Stevens via Highways 26, 53, 101 and 103/202 would be a blast. It seems that this crowd is mostly comprised of billet polishers, parking lot sitters and drag racing snobs.

That cruise sounds good to me! That is some of the stuff I am in to! I went with my father and the SVTOA east OR/WA chapter on a cruise, of course I was the only non SVT but they gladly welcomed me with the whine of the Vortech. We had WAY too much fun. We made a poker run out of it, and spent about 6-8 hours cruisin and stopin, with a bit of racin... Cruised up with Cory and many others to the show in Bellevue this year and that was a blast as well. Lets do this..
