What are you guys opinions about the Mustang magazines out there?
MM&FF
5.0 Mustang
Mustang Enthusiast

To me it seems they no longer or very rarely have articles about our beloved 5.0s. They seem to have more articles about the 4.6s and the new O5's, then every then and again throw in a 5.0 bone, seemingly to pacify us. I plan on canceling my subscriptions upon renewal. What do you think? Just One Man's Opinion. Peace

i agree with you 100%. i started to notice that in the begining of the year. and no longer buy mm&ff and 5.0 any more. and i don't always find Mustang Enthusiast, but ijust stop buying the mag all together.. i see no pooint in the mag being called 5.0 and feature more 4.6 and 05's than 5 liter stang. or when they beging to feature like pro-drag cars that are all streched with funny car bodyies etc. thats nice and all , but i'm not intrested in that cause i can't afford it or drive it on the street. in the last year they seemed to go away from the things i'm intrested in or look for in a stang mag.

What can I say, I love 'em all.

I read every one almost front to back every time, I can't get enough Mustang-anything.

I'm with you. Although I agree with you above guys that there does seem to be a 4.6L bias, you must also remember that the 4.6L has been between the strut towers of a mustang over 10yrs now. The great 5.0L EFI days pretty much ran from 87-95 (I guess 86 too)... that's just 7yrs. The 4.6L is still relatively in its infancy and there is more ground breaking stuff happening with that motor than there is with our 302 based motors that have been around for decades. I also believe that from a marketing standpoint it makes perfect sense to jump head long onto the 2005 bandwagon since there is a huge influx of "new" mustang owners, many of which have NO clue as to where to start in terms of adding performance to their cars. There are people buying the 2005 stangs that probably didn't even realize that ford made mustang prior to this year. I for one LOVE to see what works and what doesn't with all the new stuff. I mean our cars are numbering less and less by the day as they are over 10yrs old, many of us will at some point in the future own a 4.6L if we want to stick with a mustang. It makes sense to do your reading now so you don't go reinventing the wheel when that day comes. I also LOVE to read about the race cars, I mean it is the research "tinkering" they do to find an edge that ultimately benefits us.

Anyway, I subscribe to all three that you listed above. I REALLY like 5.0L as it has really eveolved into a GREAT magazine over the years IMO. Mustang enthusiast started out a little bumpy, but I thoroughly enjoy it now as it takes a much different approach to covering our hobby.

50&SF is my fave as well. I like them all though. They all have an article I won't particularly care for, but I realize they aren't writing the magazine for ME specifically so I have to take the bad with the good. I enjoy much more than I skip when it comes to all 3 magazines.

I love CARS all of them, If its a car magazine I will read it, tuner cars included, i'm still amazed what some peeps can do with a 4 banger!!! Now this doesnt mean I'm gonna scrap my cobra for a subaru, mitsu, honda, toy, or any others, (accept my DD mazda protege), I love the sound, accelaration, and smell or our american V8's, I love the feel and high rpm power of the exotics, and I love the look of them both. Nobody on these boards can say they hate the look of a shelby Gt 350, or 500. And nobody in their right mind would say ohh that crappy wenkel camaro looks like crap, or even that hemi cuda sittin in the corner over thier is a dodge so I wont drive it, Would you honestly pass on driving a GTO judge? How bout just about any year corvette? Yes we all love our 5.0, and the mags are going away from them, but this is called evolution, I really enjoy seeing my old car in a mag but lets face it guys we will change sometime, if not now in the future. Think of it this way if you were givin a brand new 2007 shelby cobra (I wish), would you want to see footage on it? or your old 94 - 95? Once I had the new one my old one would be put away (cause I'm never gonna get rid of it), and somewhere down the road it will be in the same class as those classics I mentioned before, and our kids will be saying Dad (or Mom) can I drive the cobra just once. I cant wait for these days. OK rant over.

I subscribe to 5.0 Mustang, and occasionally pick up an issue of MM&FF when it looks interesting at the store (don't feel like payin the higher price for a year subscription to MM&FF). I still love both mags, but I'll agree that the infatuation with the 05 is getting a bit old. Until people start doin somethin truly unique to them, I'm sick of them. I just simply am not interested in an 05 GT with a vortech, rims, exhaust, and quarter window scoops. While that would be a nice street car, it is definitely no mag feature car. I've seen some pics online of 05's with TT setups and other crazy stuff, those are the ones I wanna pay to see a mag feature on. Mags used to always have cars that were so badass that you could only dream of owning one like you saw in them. I think after a while they will calm down with the 05's, and not fill page after page with boring, mildly-modded 05's. I'll keep subscribing regardless :flag: . I'm used to the 94-95 being somewhat neglected, but it was only a 2 year production. I'm mainly just stoked to see any 94-98 stang at all.

5.0 & SF is my Mustang mag of choice (only one I have a subscription to).

I like it 'cause it usually has some decent tech articles. (And it's cool having the issue with Paul's car in it).

Tho I agree that I could use less of the '05 Mustang articles, I realize that is just our hobby progressing. Better than loosing our cars like the F-body fans.
