Joking Got your attention didn't I ? I wondering about how much HP my 351 windsor would have. I just bought a 78 351 rebuilt. Stock pistons with some kind of RV camshaft. It has the 71 351 heads and edelbrock performer intake. 1 5/8 headers. I thought maybe around 280 hp. I dont think a RV cam has allot of lift or duration so Im thinking about putting my Isky mega cam in it. Its 221 duration with 496 lift 108 lobe seperation. What do you guys think?

Roland, you are a great guy and we are glad you are here. But you are super duper spammer! You might as well just put +1 in all your tech posts.
Moving on, hard to tell you the kind of power youve got when you are so vague. Get us some more specs and we can get you a somewhat close estimate. And you Isky cam seems an odd cam with sub .500 lift, yet a 108. It will definitely have a choppy idle.

OUCH

That isky cam is pretty small for a 351w though.

To get an idea if you should swap cams out or stick with the RV cam you will need to know the specs of each.

No one was upset with you, we were just poking fun at others (roland).

Is this car going to be a daily driver?
Will is sit most of the year only be driven on nice days?
How important is idle quality to you?

If using a stock A9L I suggest using a 112 lobe separation. But I suspect the 351w might do ok with a 110 as well.
The duration could go to 230 degrees, and the vac should be ok. You may be able to push it to mid 230s or 240, but I am not sure how the stock 351 would handle it.

For the lift find out what limitations you have with the pistons.
I suggest calling cam compnies at this point, they should be pretty experienced.
Comp Cams has helped me well in the past.

I can post my cam specs in the 408w, but I am not sure how well they will relate to what you are doing.

:OT:
Timeless2-
I am not suggesting that post counts should be changed from posts in this thread, but is it possible to reduce a members post count when obvious abuse is taking place?
Just curious
