I think you're gonna hate yourself for not moving that bar between the intake and master cylinder for the sake of access to those caps.
Form over function always puzzled me

But grinding out the clearance slot does give me access. If I remove that front cap I can bolt the bar in place.

I can remove the rear cap fine, and there is room to check/add fluid.

It’s the front cap that I need space to remove. This is a situation where I’d rather not overcomplicate the solution. (Not that I haven’t done that before)

What another gent did for clearance.

Well right now all I can do is stare at it. Loaned out my grinder/cutoff so I’m just twiddling thumbs Til I get it back.

If I can make a surgical cut here, might not even need to repowdercoat it if I leave the cut open. I’ll need to see how that looks though. If it’s very visible I will weld in a patch and grind it smooth.

My PCer is an hour ride each way so if I don’t need to powdercoat, id like to try and avoid. Need to see what end result looks like first and decide.

Messed around with the ac again today. Said I was done but I really wanted to get a nice deep vacuum.

I used my nitrogen bottle and did a series of 3 evacs and three refills. Each time, the vacuum got deeper and I was able to get to that level much quicker.

I’d say I’m down where I need to be.

I was advised not to charge it with the ambient temps so low (high 30's in the garage when i'm not running the heat) so I’ll put a little nitrogen back into the system and wait for warmer temps.

Decided to get outside and cut this out before Snowmaggedon hit. Depending on what forecast you read, anywhere from 18”-35” is coming.

Damn

Anyway, it came out pretty clean. Will try to bolt the brace on and see if it’s enough clearance.

Fits pretty damn well now. I can get off both caps pretty easy to fill.

Now to get some ARP hardware

Couple small things tonight. Working on mounting the STB but need to grab some hardware. I’ll run it like this for now as I want to keep plugging away.

Extended my ac compressor harness and replaced the low pressure switch plug.

Am I done? Holy I think I am.

Time to put some fenders on.

Are you going to weld in a flat plate to fill what you cut out?

I am. I’m debating if I do that now or keep moving forward and revisit it later

True...... can easily be done now or later! The MM brace is pretty high up on my list of next mods!

Yep...... I’m in that map you got there. Preparing for the worst.

I got the snowblower ready to go...... generator is in the porch with the trickle charger on the battery (my wife and daughter like being able to just turn the key), and everything all gassed up! Not gonna lie...... there’s a part of me that likes all this storm prep sh$t.

It is supposed to hit us here around noon to 1:00.
We are expecting 18-24" with winds of up to 55 mph.
Since it is only 5*F now, I expect most of this stuff to just blow around and create drifts.
It is going to be a challenge to keep the driveway plowed. I have about 400' out to the road to keep clear.

Id say sooner than that, it just started down here in greater Portland. Only looking at 9-17”. Mainers are getting soft. I remember when that wasn’t that much snow… not too long ago. Mike, I’m jealous of your totals. We need that kind of snow here for winter sports. Unfortunately the mountains are only getting 4-8”.

I can take pics of the guy who drives his Jeep around the neighborhood with a tow rope on the back pulling guys on snowboards. That’s kinda like skiing on water
