Okay, got a lot done so far this week. pic time.

First off, my custom $2.10 rear main seal installation tool. Fits perfectly and available in your local home depot! It's actually a plumbing 4" cleanout fitting.

Anyhow, tapped it home, tapped in the pilot bearing and installed the index plate

Bolted the flywheel on. Ever have a prob with the wheel spinning? Well there is your solution. One bellhousing bolt and one clutch bolt and a closed wrench and it doesn't move.

And bolted the pressure plate on.

This was a little puzzling. I assume as i tighten the bolts up, the fingers on the plate are supposed to draw in slightly as the pressure plate gets bolted flush to the flywheel?? I had to go around in a circle slowly pulling it in all the way. Just wanted to make sure that's what i should have seen happen.

it doesn't matter BECAUSE I STRIPPED OUT ONE OF THE THREADED HOLES FOR THE CLUTCH BOLT!!!!

Yup, got it all done and tight, was doing my final torque sequence to 24 ft-lbs and the LAST BOLT STRIPPED!!!

Talk about profanities!! So yes...i took it ALL apart.

I dunno what to do about the flywheel now. I don't think can repair it. it's stripped all the way through. I do have a second used flywheel, but to be honest the cost of cutting another one....i might as well have ordered new. In fact, i think i am gonna just spend the $100 to buy a new one!

SO yeah, this pic looks nice, but i took it all APART after this shot.

So anyhow, since i was all pissed off about the flywheel and took it all apart, i decided to finish up my front suspension.

SInce the ford racing arms were new and i didn't want to install SN95 balls, i machined up some spacers for the 94 spindles

Brakes all done. These are the Mach 1 brakes off my 2003 GT that i removed before i traded it in. I put one of my brembo rotors on but took it off soon after. I'm gonna get them cut and repaint the centers.

So for now, i have a set of junk 13" rotors spray painted black i'm putting on..so ignore the ugliness

And i had to bolt a wheel up just to see.

The bullitt is just a spare rim i have. The cobra wheels are what i've had on it for years. I'm going with an 18" wheel though for my final setup.

What a PITA the fuel lines were to run even with no trans or rear end in the car.

ANyone know how to undo the rear fitting? I can't quite figure it out?? I want to swap the line over but can't get it off the original .

Buttoned up a few loose ends today. DIdn't do a heck of a lot while i wait for parts.

Friend of mine had a few spare clips, so i could finish up my fuel line install. He said he got them at the parts store, so Ford is not the only source

Anyway new stuff looks good!! (too bad it's an old fuel filter there! i keep forgetting to buy a new one!)

Alright man, tell me where you had issues. I am doing this soon and would like to know any info where you ran into issues. I would think that there may have to be some tweeking of the "pre-bent" lines to get them to follow all of my cars routing. Where else did you have issues?

That's what it was. I had to tweak the lines a bit here and there. They were prebent, but needed just a little bit more in some places.

Plus it was tough running both at the same time because they twisted up. The clips that hold them all are shaped for the return line on top so i had to keep it that way. I started from the rear of the car and went forward.

In some of the 90* bends the return and supply lines were not bent the same angle, so they didn't flow cleanly.

They lines fit nicely, but i just had to tweak them here and there just to get them to lie the way I wanted.

Wasn't really that tough. 1 hour tops, but i also had no rear, trans or exhaust on the car so it was easier for me. It does get a little tricky in the front wheel well routing them around the brake line and strut. I had to tweak the lines where the run down the backside of the well so that the fender liner would fit properly. The lines were too far away and the liner wouldn't slip in right. Not a big deal, just needed some tweak.

Also...you'll need a rivet gun. Some of the clips are riveted on

Flywheel came today. I should have gone new from the beginning. Oh well.

I also ordered my girdle. I was gonna go with the Trick Flow one but found out the Summitt one was the same thing with their name on it. I figure nobody is gonna see it so i'll save myself $50 or so.

Okay, lets try this again.

I found out why i stripped out my other flywheel. One of the bolts had a burr on the threads. When i cranked it in, it ruined the thread in the flywheel. Once i got to the end and torqued it, it finished it off.

Oh well, things happen for a reason right? I prob saved myself a headache in the long run using a used flywheel.

So i went the extra mile and chased all the threaded holes in the flywheel with a tap, cleaned them out with brake cleaner and then ran all the bolts through a die. It's M8 x 1.25 if you wanted to know.

After that, all the bolts spun all the way in by hand!

So, anyway, pics up
