First, your wife is correct... all those tires and none of them wide enough. Second, I thought you were ordering a Bear MC? Maybe it will not sit as tall?

Haven't decided on the MC yet. It's a $400 MC and I'm still a little bit away from that step.

At this point, i'm shelving this until later when I have the MC all bolted up and an engine in the car.

And yes, wider wheels are in the works. I need to pick some of those wheels to offload. Trying to decide what to keep.

I always loved the 98's, but just wish they were wider and sat more flush with the fenders while not needing a spacer... They look killer though.

They fit flush in the rear with SN95 axles. With 255's I needed to roll my fender lips. Up front, I will be running the MM recommended 96+ spindles so a slight kick out there as well.

As for the wheel widths, that can be fixed with money.

I may widen the rears. I can easily go another 1" or so with the SN95 axles. Would be nice to get a 275/285 out back.

I also have an aftermarket wheel in mind, but fit isn't exactly stellar.

They also fit the rear perfectly with an IRS and a 275, but that's about all the tire you can put on them without widening the rear wheel. And I suppose if I go to a MM K member then I'd have the 96+ spindles and might help there. Oh well, I'm not messing with it much anymore.

Took the day off, got cracking in the car. Needed to pull some wires back into the bay, which somehow snowballed into pulling the pedals out.

aparentky these things are in need of a rehab. One of the clutch pedal bushings is gone, so the shaft has play.

also, the pedal spacer was cracked.

MM claims these crack all the time. Why they include an aluminum one in the hydroboost kit.

You can buy it separately as well

Pedal Box Spacer, 1979-1993 Mustang

Also, more stuff to replace

final fit up. Time to sand the paint away and weld it in

Done. Frame rail complete.

Such a relief to finally be past this hurdle. Still have 1300psi in my 80cf bottle, so it was more than enough to do this job, and will still have excess after filling holes and doing the subframes.

speaking of filling holes, I started. Did a couple by holding a copper pipe flattened out on thebackside but it was a PITA. I stopped after two. Gonna order one of those magnetic holding copper spoons.

In the meantime, time to rebuild my pedal box. Watch this...

Also, better view of the final cut. The pic doesn’t do that silver on the right justice. Lots of metal flake

Tire the pedal box apart. Of course I can’t leave it rusted up and ugly

the busted clutch pedal bushing was non existent. One missing completely and one broke

My idea of using the SN95 clutch pedal failed. Can even grind the metal pads off because the angle of attachment is different. Back on eBay it goes

decided to bust out the grinder. A few passes later, looks like this will work. I tested it in vice and full weight in pedal doesn’t move it. I might tack in a piece of metal for the bottom portion just to add more support

also, different between the stock brake pedal and the MM pedal.

That’s it for now. Ordered the pedal bushings so just waiting on those and the paint to cure a couple days before reassembling it all and then putting it back in the car.

Wait, what's the problem with the clutch pedal? If it's just the pedal you want, you've got a welder man... make it work.

The SN95 pad doesn’t fit the fox arm. But grinder solved that problem, although wekder may be used to reinforce it

Frame rails look great. I would go with the middle swatch for PC intake.

Since I did this on the pass side, thought i'd post pics of the driver's side progress with start to semi-finish on the frame rail. Obvjously there still some work to do, but here's start to end.

Where it stands today. A little more touchup/grinding/holefilling left to do. Not gonna lie...this was quite a bit of work.

Got bored....pulled a heater box.

while I’m here, I’m gonna rip out an old 90s alarm system that’s a rats nest of wiring. Gonna tape and loom this harness too

gotta add a heater core to my list....
