So, I have analyzed the available data and put it through a computer model and final results are in.

She's right. You have a problem.

Thank her for pointing out the err of your ways and begin construction immediately:

No more problem

That’s not even the room I was talking about. That’s just the regular basement.

i have parts in the attic too.
I’ve also taken over the finished basement.

I told myself when car is done and back together I’m gonna purge my inventory.

Cars always take up more space when in the "exploded view" state.

Quick work with a dremel to cut this out

Total nastiness. Glad I opted to replace it.

Compared to the brand new motorcraft unit.

btw, does anyone make these seals? They are in OK shape but I would love fresh ones

What started as a quick dash wash down ended up with me cutting my hand on glass somewhere in the dash. I took this dash out of a junkyard car so along with the glass I found the remains of spilled coke. Decided to break it down all the way and wash it all.

yeah...I know I’m nuts

Found one of the register ducts was broken. Fortunately I just robbed one off the spare parts black dash in my attic.

Was all sticky under the center register and behind the dash pad.

New one in. I’ve got a heater core in the mail. Shame that motorcraft units are not available. I picked up a Spectra so we will see how it does. If it fails...bypass. I need AC...not heat

I ordered the clips referenced in the ford service manual. Now to figure out best way to seal the box up.

I did this a couple years ago at most. I tried 2 different cheap heater cores with no luck. Finally just bought the Motorcraft one. They don't even remotely look like comparable parts. Last time i checked it was still available. You usually can find anything so I'll have to look and check myself...lol. The evap was a pain but not difficult. I did the same with a dremel. I have a thread somewhere with pics. Never been good finding where i post things!

why is this BOLD ??? The B isn't pressed.

The motorcraft one is still available? I’ll have to take another look

Edit: Part number is Motorcraft HC5 (E9LY-18476-A).

Ok, got some spring clips which do a great job holding the evap flap closed. Now to determine how to seal it up?

RTV? Butyl? Silicone?

Also, got my heater core.....

eh......

It’s aluminum, and one tube is bent. Seems very...flimsy.

Ican’t find a motorcraft, or copper unit at all. The LMR one looks like one of the bottom barrel cores from rock auto. I don’t want to put any of these in.

I’d pay $100+ for a genuine motorcraft unit...if I could find one

It might be worth calling them to see where it's made. The picture looks more like a stock copper unit.

I used ultra black to seal mine and made a small metal plate or two. I used pop rivets where i could.

I put 3 of the LMR cores in and every one of them leaked. They are in fact the lowest level ones from a parts store. I can now pull a dash out in 30 minutes, unfortunately. Let me look on the Motorcraft core... sorry i forgot.

You’re going to paint or powder coat that dash bracket, aren’t you?

Thanks. I called. It's expensive.

So I bought it. I can't put this Aluminum POS in my car. Not at this point in what I've been doing to it. I appreciate you finding me perhaps the last one in the country.
