Over the years when cleaning interior plastic or anything with printed symbols or lettering I've learned not to use products with ammonia in it, takes the lettering/symbols right off so read the ingredients before using.
5 cents worth of free advice.

Got switches for pass door. Figure i start with one side.

Not a fan. They look great but the click feel is off and inconsistent. They click one way, but not the other.

I figure on the passenger side it's no big deal as I usually drive alone, but on drivers side, i might look for used stuff on eBay.

Looks great though.

Well they actually interchange. Problem is the repro switches have loose tolerances and it wouldn't seat on the oem switch rocker. So partial success. Using the repro door unlock switch, but only swapped the cap on the window switch, so the rocker below is oem.

But yeah, these feel like cheap Chinese crap. Oem switches made by Eaton

And finished product. It's acceptable. Like I said, I haven't had a passenger in this car in 10-12 years, so not as critical to me as my side. But the door lock switch is ok I guess.

So picked up an 6-way power seat track from a 99-04 Mustang. Gonna swap out the fox seat my drivers seat is on. This probably won't lower it, but I wonder if the extra adjustment will allow me to angle my seat in a more comfortable manner. I always drive cars with front of seat all the way up and rear of seat all the way down.

Damn thing is heavy.

If not a fan of this...time to explore new seat options

So discovered this power track came from a car without the power lumbar. Since I wanted to get that working, I found a used harness on eBay and that's on the way.

In the meantime, soldered up an adapter harness to connect 1980s wiring to 2000s wiring. I hate hacking any wire harness.

And test fitting the track and operation. Works nicely.

Harness should be here Monday, so I can assemble the seat then and bolt it back in. Some good weather next week too

Nice. I'll bought a pair of window switches, but $35 for the unlock button? Wow

Already have it though, and I got it for cheap. As long as it's not going to fall apart on me, rather just run it.

Ok. Harness showed up. Spent 10 mins installing and bolting up seat track

First a quick vacuum

And then back in

What did I gain? Not much really. Wallet is $100 lighter, added 30 lbs to the car, and seat height is pretty much the same.

What I did gain is a MUCH more solid seat. No movement at all. The fox track was definitely flimsy. Also, the 6-way adjustment makes it easier to find a more comfortable driving position.

Overall, I'm happy with results. The added rigidity made it worth it for sure.

Took car for ride tonight followed by some cleaning. Really needs a wash but infigure I'll start with interior.

Now that's a door panel. New speaker grill, window switch plate, door clips, map pocket elastics, and overall deep cleaning when it was disassembled.

Switches came today in motorcraft boxes. Quality was waaaaaay better than the LRS switches, but they are obviously made by a new vendor these days. They are not made by Eaton, but they have a nice positive click when pressed

Edit: box says made in mexico

Part number E6DZ-14529-C
Motorcraft number SW-7062

Spent entirely too much money on this project. Time to go back to buying engine stuff.

Mass air swap coming shortly. It's just too perfect weather right now and I'm having fun driving the car.

Ok so acquired some parts. Got the craving to go distributorless. This is a down the road project, but wanted to get parts while the info was fresh. Got it all for about $100. Just need to visit the boneyard to get some harnesses. In the meantime, I'll squirrel away and clean up the parts.

Also, I've decided to change the headlights out. Still on the fence about putting the LX tail lights back on.

MASS air swap still waiting for me to get some time. Hopefully in next few weeks

Some NOS goodies showed up

Opened one to inspect and compare. Ford unit on left, LRS unit on right.

Coloration is a bit different, but construction is dead on accurate with the LRS units. Honestly, not much of a difference at all. Even comparing the outer marker, they really look like they were made with same molds. Even the markings on the backside referenced hardware sizes and alignment angles is the same.

I'll squirrel away the NOS stuff (still need 3 more of the 6) and run the LRS stuff without hesitation.

Maker of the LRS lenses is "PDI"

Not exactly the best customer service reputation.

Thanks for the comparison! Ironically the ones I got from Carlisle last weekend were PDI from True Blue. I assume there is only one or two of the aftermarket companies making these. It would be nice if there was an option to buy better quality versions/American made for those that are willing to pay for it.

Headlights on

I know I've been pushing more for a back to stock look, but I have these parts. Can't decide if I want to do it or not
