Im in the same boat. My fuel pickup wont be here until Tuesday, coming from friggin CA. I should have paid more attention about where it was coming from. Would have paid an extra $10 for one that would have allowed me to get the car finished this weekend.

Eh, my wife is due tomorrow. Tonight would have been my last chance to get the tank in unless she goes late.

But I want to POR15 under there anyway. So things might be on hold for a tad

Thank the Lord we are done having kids. My little girl just turned 7 months, and only wakes up one time a night now. Life is getting back on track again. Dont get me wrong, newborns are awesome in their own right, but most everything else goes on hold. Good timing on your part though, right when the car is in storage anyway.

The metal pickup is 3/8". I got that size right.

The barbed end that slides into the oem fuel line...I also got 3/8" but needed 5/16" here

Yeah, i'll be home the next few weeks so I'm sure I can steal away for an hour or so here and there. I've got a few minor projects to tackle this off-season and once we get into a better routine next year, then out comes my engine! In the meantime..trying to keep my eye out for a 331/347 shortblock seeing as I have time.

I really got lucky on mine, assuming it actually runs, lol. The cylinder walls looked pristine when I had it apart. I was just texting with the PO last night, as he has wanted to hear my thoughts on it when I get it running. Thats pretty reassuring, along with having all the documentation. Hopefully you can score a similar deal. I mean who throws in a brand new 3G alternator, mini starter, clutch, distributor, 2 sets of plug wires, 8 brand new spark plugs, and a high flow oil pump for free when you already only paid half of what they paid for the engine itself? He is the nicest friggin guy. Just said, well I had no use for it after the engine goes...

Since I had some time to kill, might as well paint/clean up some parts

Here's one of my minor winter projects. New window edge molding and guide bushings. I'm also going to rebuild my power mirrors

Screw it...just keep going.

30 years of fuel grime to clean out. Actually found the hose partially blocked.

Nothing to paint really, just letting it dry and putting it back together shortly

Found they had new seals for that at NPD, but I didn't bother. Put it back in the car today.

My original por 15 went bad after sitting 8 years of so, so ordered some more. Will wait til it arrives.

My fitting arrived, so now I need to determine how to slip it in. Will need to machine a block to hold hose in vice and tap it in.

Baby did not arrive Sat or today. Wife is not too pleased. She wants baby out lol

Wife and I welcomed our newest mod to our family. Now the parents of 3 boys.

Little Brayden. 9 lbs, 7oz. My wife's a champ. I owe her the world for the last 9 months and her delivery. She did an incredible job

Found a few mins to install the new fuel line clip. Found a YouTube vid showing how to do it, and was pretty easy. Of course now I'm paranoid I damaged the line..but oh well.

Tank ready to go in.

My new can of POR15 arrived. Need to pick up a few brushes at Home Depot and paint the tank area under the car. Need gloves too.

After that, I can install....when I find time
