I used to think that I [really] wanted a set of those for my 86 until I realized how few Mustangs got the regular Halos.

Thankfully, my OEM Halos have never left the car.

No. I ended up buying the control arms to keep the wheels in stock place. But thanks

Less race car...more street cruiser.

I still have my regular 4-eye halo's carefully packed up and sitting in a box. Couldn't bring myself to sell them since i pulled them out of a junkyard myself back in 2000 or so. Not dried out or cracked like so many being sold for $200 are.

My 99-04 seats are currently bagged and moisturized and sitting in my basement. They are so pristine i hate to sell them because i'll never find another set like that.

I really need to start offloading some of my mustang parts though. I just have too much stuff that i won't let go. I have a set of NOS new headlights in boxes but won't actually put them on my car because they are too rare. SO they sit on a shelf gathering dust.

Once this car is "done" i will reduce what i have. Either sell or scrap things like my old leaky e7 heads.

I have my sights on a FFR Cobra kit car next, but it will either be 4.6L DOHC or Coyote powered. Their latest kits got away from using a fox body as a donor. Too expensive these days, so they engineered them now to be stand-along and only require an engine/trans.

We will see if I actually build one though. I've been putting away cash for it.

If there was ever a transmission to learn how to rebuild, the T5 is the one to start with it. It's Very easy. The parts rally only fit together one way, and the service manual is pretty details as to how the parts stack up. There's only two places to measure endplay and shim to, and not real special tooks needed other than good snap ring pliers and some good roll pin punches.

What I've been looking for is a busted T-3650 to learn how to rebuild.

Those FFR Cobras are really sharp looking cars! I'd love to build one, but I really like their Dayton kit as well. Always loved the way those cars looked.

I've always wanted to build a Factory Five kit car.
Went to Barrett Jackson last year and was drooling over the Daytona kit they had on display.

Disassembled the top cover, painted, polished the rod, and putting it back together.

Got my countergear reinforcement plate. Found a little bit more endplay that I wanted there so good thing I pulled this apart.

Went through the main stack. No surprises. Everything looks good so no need to replace a thing. I took it partially apart to inspect. Sorry no pics as my hands were fairly greasy.

In the middle of painting the main case. Reassembly coming shortly.

Any thoughts about having the case hot tanked and powder coated? My luck with painting parts that see a lot of heat isn't great. Obviously there is a lot higher cost in the powder coating, but I would be pretty confident that it would last forever, too.

Not really worth it. I sandblasted the case last time it was out. Inside is spotless. I just wanted a quick touch up.

So I did

Really nice piece. You can really tell how it reinforces the countergear vs the original support

Bought a bronze shifter cup a while back. Finally gonna try it

Of course ARP 12pt everything on the case. The original bolts are all rusted and gunked with RTV. I’ll be using anaerobic sealer vs RTV.

just curious if you’ve kept track of what you spent on hardware? I replaced all the bolts when doing my clutch, but never thought of going ARP for that. Kinda wish I would have!

Prob spent a few hundred on nice bolts.

I admire the countersinking on that piece. Very nicely machined.
