My 03 GT vs. 02 V6 auto

I drove a 02 V6 vert today. I was very amazed. The cloth seats are lower than the GT's leather and recline farther back. Also turning the steering wheel is harder than the GT. What gives?

probably the power steering unit is cheaper and smaller than the gt.

probably some big fat girl was sitting on those cloth seats which made it recline and sit lower

the seats probably sit lower and recline more b/c they are most likely manual. one of the things i hate is that i have the six way power adjustable seats in my GT, which makes the seats sit higher than in my 98 GT with only 4 way power seats b/c of the bigger motor under the seat. maybe thats the reason

Yea, my mom has a V6 vert but with leather seats. The seats themselves are ****tier. I don't know how they call them buckets, its more like they cut a park bench in half and covered it in cheap leather. But they sit much lower and I like that. I miss how I sat in my 300zx

First the power-steering in V-6s is vaccum assisted.

My girlfriend has an 03 V6 with cloth seats. They sit way lower than my seats and are bolstered alot better.

I almost like her seats better than mine. Much more cushion and bolster. I just slide back and forth in my seats.

hey speaking of seats, anyone know how to get my GT seats to go back farther? i have power seats but they dont slide back far enough for driving to be comfortable. anyone know if the track can be moved back or somthing? i guess im just a little to tall or somthing, any help here would be great

Ditto. I find myself trying to get the dang seat back further everytime I strap in (even though I know I'm already all the way back). I'm 6' 1/2" and seems just a little to cramped in the seat. Needless to say, I'm never going to be doing the gas pedal mod--I can already do heel/toe driving.

^ Bump for a yea or nay on getting the seat moved further back.

yea, im 6'2 and i cant take it anymore. my 92's seat pretty much touches the back seat, for plenty of space.
so if there is way someone please help us out here
i think i speak for many mustangers when i say we need this
maybe even start another thread for this ?

AMEN BROTHER!!! im a prety big guy also: 6"0 250 lbs, and i cant stand being so close either!!! when i was in my accident (lost control on bald tires, fishtailed and hit a concrete barrier head-on) both knees hit the area around the wheel and left two pretty good sized bruises. i need more leg room!!

not trying to flame anyone but it is a sports car. I agree with you though completely. My old 96 V6 sat lower and farther back than my 01 GT but I have power seats. I would rather have manual anyway, I never mess with the power seats. I would suggest at looking into getting some V6 seats w/brackets and do a swap. I bet the motors on our cars are pretty expensive and a junk yard would love to have them. Or some V6'ers might want power adjustable seats in their cars. Personally, I would like more side bolster in my gt seats and they definitely need to go back farther 205lbs. 6'2".
