I was running 13.8's@102 In my GT with a few bolt on's and after adding my 4.10's and Nittos, I ran 13.2@105... 3.90's should give similar results.. Something is wrong with the car.. sad to say

you went through 3 tranny's and 2 motors? holy ***** man, you got me scared. i only have 7,300 miles on my car, is that what i have to look forward to? id have to get rid of it i think.

Somethings wrong with the car. I can destroy my tires with my 3.90s, and I don't have to dump the clutch, just give it some gas. I'd get the car checked out.

Something is def. wrong with your car or your driving. I am able to break gears consistently through 3 gears with my 3.90's (proof is in the sig under listen to my car "outside.wav". Is there anyway you could get a vid up of you running through the gears, and maybe somebody can hear/see something that seems outta place. Also with the speedcal, it should work with no problems with the calibrating for the gears, seems like something is wrong with the speedcal itself. Contact DM to get it exchanged for a properly working on (assuming you checked all the connections first yourself for proper install)

If you have to rev the engine to 5500 and drop the clutch just to get a tire spin I say there definately something wrong there. It sounds like your clutch is going out to me. Have your clutch checked out. Just a thought.

Seriously...this guy has other problems which are not gear related, and next thing I see "shoulda got 4.10's!"...yeah that'll fix it. Not like I really care much anymore of helping the guy out from his ridiculous comments anyways.

Just a thought, but disconnect the SpeedCal, disconnect your battery to reset the computer, and drive it around for the day normally with the SpeedCal totally out of the picture.

I'm no computer geek, but I do know the Ford computer is adaptive, and will "learn" to a degree. Wondering if the malfunctioning SpeedCal may have fed it some data that totally confused everything.

If nothing else, it's a no-cost approach!

when i first got my speed cal it was jumping too. Also made the car run and idle a little funny. I'm assuming the comp reads the speedo possibly for engine load and some other paramenters (I'm just guessing). Turned out I need a better ground.

No cost would be worth looking into, it would also probably be a good idea to pull your cover off your rear end and check the stamp on the ring gear for correct gearing instead of like 2.90's or something. Also no cost.

I just did the same install on my wife's 02 GT. 3.90's, K&N filter, and Flowmaster (2chamber) mufflers are the only mods. The car will break the tire's with out the rev. from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & will even squeel them in 4th. Sounds like you clutch is seriously F#@ked. Just from reading on your last two motor and tranny swaps, you need to get a real kick a$$ clutch to help you out. Oh yea taking it a little easier on the pony would really help out too. Just my .2 cent.

There is something wrong with the car. I can chirp third easily when I had my Kumho's on, I could get 4th on the right pavement.

So you did get the stock gears back right?

Just from the sound of what you said, something is either broke or slipping somewhere. I have to agree with the other guys. Either something is wrong with your car, they didnt install the gears right(most likely suspect), or they put the wrong gears in the car(very possible too).

If you've went through 3 transmissions, then something is very wrong in your drivetrain department. Who did the install of the transmissions and who's been doing the service work on your car ? Sounds like an idiot has had a hold of your car.

You should be able to tell what gear you have just by taking note of your RPMs at certain speeds. Like what RPM are you at when doing 60mph in 5th?

I agree with a couple of guys here. I believe your Speedcal may be causing the problem. Disconnect it and run without it to see if the problem clears up. Dallas Mustang should back up there product if it is the problem.

Disconnect the speedcal.Your Ecm runs off the VSS.
