Well i got a great deal on a 408 the other day from a friend but i got a queston. Its got eagle forged crank, eagle h-beem rods, and je reverse dome piston. Heads are windsor sr alum. ones tht have been ported. I forgot all the cam specs but its a 680 lift solid roller. It was making abt 14.5:1 compression and went low 5s in the 1/8th with a 200 shot. he installed a new fuel pump and the pump stopped wrkn during a pass and burnt 1piston nothing else was damaged. I was about to order a new set of pistons when i looked up the part# on the rods and they are 5.956s and not 6.20s like other 408s. Is this because the taller piston or is it really a 393? I was planning on lowering the compression to abt 13:1 and run it on e85 so im not broke everytime i wanna drive it and still makes alot of power. Anyone got any ideas and can chime in?
