I bought my dads mustang and really dont know much about cars but want to learn. I have a 302(thought at first it was a 289)
. Paper(I thought was 15 years old. not
)says c4, b&m strip shift kit, 3500 b&m super hole shot conv, detroit locker 9" rear end, 4:86 gears, ss valves, crower roller rockers. Dad after clearing that up says something about the headers, but i dont know if they are good or not. They are edelbrock. I looked up the carb #'s and found it to be a holley 4010 w/600cfm. the intake manifold is a holley contender. Edelbrock on valve covers. I've been working on the front a little but the bumper seems low and to far out(w/new arms). I guess it's good enough for now. I did notice a lot of rust. This car was made into a dragster, probably in 80's. My dad bought it in 90. My questions are 1: What do I have HP wise and how high rpm can it go.(with these gears i'd like higher rpm's) 2: How do I tune the carb? So now I've ID'ed almost everything. I'm not sure what the difference is between heads and headers. I read a article Hot Rods 10 steps to power or something. Learning a little. Thanks for any help
