Well posted a thread with my dyno results. Here is the situation it made good power on the dyno, however when driving it on street it is a whole different story....

The car does the following things:
1.) Cuts out n just dies basically when you get on it in 1 2nd 3rd and every now and then in 4th.
2.) Surges like crazy when warmed up
3.) When warm has a hanging idle at 2300 when clutch is in at times
4.) buck and misses under cruising speeds.

Was told by my tuner that the 94-95 idle surge just cant be corrected sometimes bc of the computer and will always surge. He also claims these problems are not tune related, but yet I feel these are all tune related issues. Basically the car has zero driveability, and cant even be run at track since it cuts out when floored and revved out. Also it backfires when throttle is shut off after it is revved. Please le me know your thoughts on this.

Id take it back to the tuner immediately and get them to drive the car

Be Afraid

Be VERY Afraid

That is just pure junk :chair:

I have a very stable idle and have talked to many other h/c/i Stang
owners who do as well :)

Backfires when you close the throttle

Come On :(

You know that ain't right :Word:

I'd find a different tuner who is more competent ;)

Sounds like mechanical + tuning problems to me?

Wes

P.S. Grady are you getting my emails? Shoot me one at [email protected]

No Sir

I've seen no stuff from you

Then again ... I've been Micro Soft Researching a lot lately

So I kinda been staying away from pooters in the evening :)

I havent been on here as much as usual :(

Just for you :D

I'll open up a window of opportunity in my PM's ;)

Back in the day Autologic was the only game in town, but that was back in the day. Autologic doesn't have as many of the parameters in software, not even close - to all the modern stuff like SCT, Diablo and Sniper.

94-95's are not difficult to tune, just different than Fox bodies, just like SN197s (05 and up) are completely different than 99-04 GTs because of drive-by-wire. Tuning our '95 is a walk in the park compared to tuning my '06 Mustang and getting the drive-by wire correct. It's total hogwash that idle surges are something to be lived with in 94-95's. We've tuned a ton of them - such as our own 700 HP turbo '95 that drive pretty much close to stock. Just takes a bit of time getting it all right. It also takes a car that is mechanically sound - all sensors working, IAC set properly, timing right, FP right, etc.

I'd first make sure all the mechanical ducks were in order, then I would also take the car back to tuner and have him drive the car and ask him if he'd like to own a car that acts like that. Hopefully, he'll get it all straightened out for you.

Good luck!
