peabody, ma
well the past week my car is getting louder and louder it sounds like something in the rear end. itsounds like someone put truck tires on my car, the only thing is these tires have been on my car for 2 1/2 years and never sounded like this. i have no idea what it is but when i go faster the noise goes faster and louder.
but yhe noise sounds like truck tires or a similr wineing. any ideas??

Sounds likely that it is the rear end making noise. I'd suggest not delaying too long on that. I had a pinion bearing go bad and kept driving for a while. The way it wore, I could not knock the pinion out without removing the rear end and applying excessive abuse, which also meant I was replacing the gears too.

well got my car fixed and yea it was the rear end bearings $980. ouch!!!!!

Im not trying to be rude, but you got hosed, thats terrible.

I would have taken it to the track, borrowed a set of slicks, and launched it at the limiter. After that, you could have had a completely bullet proof rear end, parts and labor for that price.

i think it has to do with location, cause where i live u cant find a shop to touch ur rear for under 500 in labor, to install gears im looking at around 800-900 bucks installed with bearing kit, i wish i could get 300 labor around here
