Wasn't too bad but I had no problem with him out on the highway today. Took it a couple times from a couple different speeds, say 70mph and 80mph or so. The funny part was I KNEW he was going to want to race. I saw him weaving through traffic to get to me and his vanity plate was "flybyyou" or something like that. Guess he's not too happy with his MOPAR today!:D

No offense, but if it took you a couple of times to get him from different speeds, I wouldn't say you had no problem with him.....

And you were behind him long enough to read his plate.:D

I ran a 300C the other day. I thought since it has 340hp it would kill me.
He jumped first from the line and we were side by side from 0-78(ish)mph. At that point I pulled away and kept pulling to 90mph. I thought it was weird cuz at around 80 is when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd. Third in my car is pretty gutless.
Oh yeah, mine's stock, automatic.

So much to say here......
Okay, first of all, anybody who thinks a Chrysler 300C is SLOW, or that a SRT8 300 is only a 14 second car, is showing how little they know about late model MOPAR's
A bone-stock 300C is a mid 14 sec car. I've seen them pull low 14's as well. A bone-stock SRT8 300 is good for high 12's. I've seen them do it at Englishtown in NJ. So basically speaking, a stock 300C is pretty evenly matched to several stock Mustang GT's as I've seen them posting anything from low 14's to high 14's. My guess is that with my relatively minor mods, my car is probably a low 14 to high 13 sec. car so I'm fairly sure I can beat a stock 300C in the 1/4 mile but that may not mean much out on the highway since my 2v 4.6 is NOT a heavy breather by any measure. And as for the SRT8 300, all I can say is if I'M driving one, you better have a heavily modded GT or a good running Terminator, because that's what you'll need to beat me. I can't say anything about other drivers but I WILL say that anybody who only pulls a 14 sec. E/T with a SRT8 300 should be embarrassed!
Oh, and as for my play time with the 300C, I saw him on one of our local highways before playing on the interstate, that's when I saw his plate (on the rear), and that's also when he was making it VERY plain that he wanted to play. By the time we got to the interstate, we both knew what was going to happen. He tried to pull me twice, and I ended up getting him instead. After the first one, he even did a little "ricer-fly-by" which I thought was funny. I don't know if he was stock but I'm guessing he was since he didn't wax my butt. You never know what's under anybody's hood these days.

if you are only trapping 93mph in that boat. you aren't beating stock GT's, you're beating the drivers. unless ofcoarse they are stock pre-99's.

Not quite sure what you mean by that. About the only way I can "beat the drivers" would be with shifting skills and my launch. As you can see, my 60ft times suck big time, and the car is a auto so not much skill needed there. I think it would be pretty hard to trap a higher speed without some power adder because the car just won't 60ft much better. All I was trying to point out was, that for a big heavy car, they can turn some pretty respectable numbers. Where I am from (Pacific Northwest) even 99+ Mustangs are on average running mid 14's (stock). Not trying to flame, just trying to clarify:nice:

Mehhh, I'd like to see a few of you haters add 500-700lbs to your cars and see how you do against one. Those 300C's move pretty well for size and weight of the vehicle.
Yeah, I thought he would beat me with that much more power. I forgot about the weight at the time.
It would be nice to have the same kind of power as one though.

stock PI GT's trap high 90's on bad runs. some have trapped as high as 101mph. the GT's are faster if you are only trapping 93mph. so that means if you are beating PI GT's, the drivers are worse at racing than you.

ok, if that's the case, can we ad 1.1L's to our engines?

oh wait, that's ricer talk.:notnice:

No, it’s not ricer talk. It is however ricer talk to dismiss a cars performance capabilities because it just happens to be a little bigger and heavier than your is. Some of you insist on shunning these cars simply because you might on occasion be able to edge one out in a street race. The fact of the matter is, is that it still makes 80-more horsepower and 90lbs/ft of torque that the 2V 4.6L does and as such is able to match the Mustangs strait line performance while carrying around an additional 700lbs, 4-doors and in a much more comfortable and ergonomically friendly interior to boot. And it’s got usable trunk space on top of that. That’s a pretty impressive package by anyone’s standards!

You don’t have to like the big car Mopar line up. They aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but you certainly can’t ignore it!

Admittedly, they are FASTER (mph), I guess I'm just QUICKER(e.t.:p )!:D Seriously, I have owned a number of Mustangs over the years. The 98 GT in my sig went 14.40's at 96-98mph all day, bone stock...pretty good for a non-PI GT. So when my GINORMOUS Chrysler went 14.4 with a horrible 60ft, I was certainly impressed. I have love for Mustangs (Im selling my 300C to buy another GT to mod), but they do not own all. Nor does my Chrysler, but it looks cool walking a GT at the track.:nice:
