Some young girl driving boyfriend's eclipse cut right in front of me.
Too little time for escape moves,short skid marks.
front end totaled.frame bent.no injuries.her fault.

Well,I do have a black 77 CobraII that i was going to use as a parts car,but looks like the 76 will be the parts car for the 77.

Man that sucks, good thing no one got hurt. Hopefully your Cobra at least took its own bit of revenge and sent the eclipe into the big wrecking yard in the sky as well.
( Not to mention what her boyfriend will do to her when he finds out she killed his car )

I am so sorry! You had a beautiful cobra! I agree with 78MachI. At least you got some sort of revenge in taking her car with you. I can't count how many idiots out there have cut out in front of me and luckily so far I have been able to avoid hitting them. Good luck in restoring the 77.

Everytime I hit the road I worry about that happening. I'm sorry to hear that man. Talk about paying the price for someone else's carelessness.

If the car has sentimental value to you, (as mine does for me) a good shop can use a frame machine to straighten the damage and then all you need is front end body parts.
Or you could just cut off the subframes from the floorpans and weld on another front clip, which would be far cheaper than paying someone to straighten the bent frame rails.
"Totalled" only counts for insurance companies. If you love the car, you fix it.

I got the 76 back today,the damage is bad.the whole front end is pushed over to the right about six in.
grill is shot,radiator into the fan,inner fender well into the power steering pump.hood is beyond repair.so is the bumper and both fenders.

looks like it's a parts car for the 77 now.
insurance is giving me $1600.
I took the 77 around the block with temp tags,and it seemed OKAY,but when I drove it down the hill about a mile away the pass.side caliper locked up.
Lotsa smoke,and call a tow truck.
Just can't win these days!
