I decided it was time to put my car up on jackstands and double check all the work I had done recently. This included a t5 conversion, as well as scarebird front discs.
I have always had a vibration at high speeds in 4th, and a loud ticking sound which I figured was an exhaust leak.
To make a long story short, these are all the loose bolts I found
2x bolts holding the trans to the bellhousing. Barely fingertight.
1x bolt holding trans to crossmember on drivers side
2x bolts holding inspection plate to bellhousing (on the bottom)
2x passenger side 40 year old manifold to y pipe bolts. They actually tightened up about 8 turns
(also got rid of the ticking)
3x shock tower cap bolts allowing a little bit of play in the shock.
2x bolts holding the hood molding onto the hood.
5x screws holding centercaps onto the torque thrust wheels
I think thats about it....
I have also invested in a small bottle of loctite
Yay for loose bolts!
