So my 93 Lx vert., that I just got this March, has to have emissions tested. I live in Maryland and have had problems in the past at those things so I'm worried because you have to spend quite a bit of money to get a wavier if needed.

Anyway the car was MD inspected when i bought it and had a tune up. Outside of me cleaning out the mass air sensor it has been running fine. But I wanted to ask if there is something I should check still. The car is completely stock at the moment.

I know the tips about driving it awhile before the test but I wanted to ask if using Higher Octane gas would be a good idea too. I usaully go with 89 or 87 now in it. Would putting in 93 help with the test? :stupid:

Thanks

here is whatI do woth my 93 LX in So Cal. I leave teh engine runnign wheil waiting for the test. I also run the tank down to almost empty, a couple of gallens left in the tank. I go to CVS and buy 12 bottles of 91% rubbing alcohol and pour it in to the tank. This has reduced my emissions to where my Stang passes with flying colors everytime.

Good luck.
