My friend is buying a shortblock, he wants a Dart block with good internals...its for his turbo mustang. He would prefer to buy it already assembled becuase the machine shops around arent all that. What would be the best way of going about buying a bottom end good for 20psi in a Dart block already assembled? I quoted this just for him, please give some advice.

"Well today I blew a headgasket. I have way to much compression to continue to change hg later on. So I am goin to buy a short and put my top end on it. So I was wondering what would be a good company to buy a short block from. I will probably go with a 331, but I need some help Please."

Are their bottom ends up to the task?

they can build with all forged internals: crank, rods, pistons and even balance and blueprint it all. But if he is just blowing head gaskets, you can always have the heads o-ring grooved and run a steel re-enforced gasket. The stock block is good for up to 450rwhp, or so i've heard.

He should be around high 500's at the wheels. He was looking at the DSS XR engines, I dunno what he is going to do.
