My heaters isnt getting warm.

Yeah I did it at the firewall , but I left the firewall hoses on to direct the water dawn and out, instead of on me :)
It's so frickin' cold to get soaking wet.... Oh well.
How much of the coolant shouldI have to remove to not spray everywhere??

my heater and cold air dont work, it blows out air tho, i just use 3 big jackets in the morning cause its freezing here, and im in florida, i feel bad for you guys

yup undershirt, thermal, workshirt, thermal jacket, and jacket, 2 pairs of pants, and the only thing cold is my face n feet lol My heater does almost the exact same thing, it's hot when it wants to be, it pisses me off cuz when i first put the motor in, right before, we flushed it all out like you's were sayin, and it was blowin soo hot now its like hot for 10 min, than barely warm, than hot if i turn it off n than turn it on when i remember

I finally got mine working last weekend, it is just in time because a cold front moved in Sunday and the highs all week are in the 30's. I took off the return hose to the water pump and it was flowing but not like it should so, here is what i did. I took off both heater hoses, i also took out the restrictor also. Than i took an air compressor chuck and piped clamped it in the outlet heater hose. Than i took the air compressor and turned it down to 35-40psi, and hooked it in the chuck. Now if you do this watch out it sprays everywhere. Brown **** sprayed out for a good 30 seconds, it works great now. Hope this helps someone.

well, I backflushed mine today. A whole bunch of brown cam out for awhile, and I did it several times over several minutes until it ran clear.
Unfortunately, the heat is not much better. It might be *a little* better, but definitely not HOT. And the higher you put the fan on, the cooler it feels.
I didn't have time to burp the system, so I'll have to do that later, maybe that's why???
I did top it off after the T stat opened, I did top it off....

The "big" door that's visible from uner the dash works when I turn the Vent on and off.
Is there another door also?
If so, would the other door aloow the system to blow warm air but not hot air?
My T-stat is new, a balaned Mr. Gasket>

Well I just had a similar problem. Swapped in a new heater core and it would only get warm. Well one day driving down the road I noticed my temp gauge (stock one) would slowly climb to the "A" and stay for a little bit then fall all the way back down. I started watching it more closely and it just cycled that way the whole time. I just put in a FMS mechanical gauge, jacked up the driverside and ran it until the thermo opened. It was down just a bit, maybe half a quart, so I topped it off. Last two days my new temp gauge stays rock solid on 180 while driving and the heat is great now.
