my intake exploded

ok, not really exploded but it is ****ed :(

the heater hose line in the back on the pass. side decided to break off today on my way home from work. had to wait an hour for a flat bed to come get my car.

i know the intake has to be replaced and i'm hoping that there isnt any other serious damage to the engine, the temp. "guage" didnt even move, even though after pulling off the highway the radiator resevior was completely empty...

anyone know the price difference between the ford alum. crossover intake and the professional products typoon intake?

oh and pics :(

Damn that sucks eric. Those typhoon intakes aernt really worth the money from what i hear. Just buy an aluminum crossover one and ill come help you change it out.

i've read they arent that great for the price, but i figured since i have to replace it anyway, if the difference in price isnt much(<$100) i might as well get an all alum. one :)

and i dont have time or a place to change it, so i had the wrecker take it to my dads mechanic, he does all the work for the cars at my dads lot, and hopefully i'll get it back sometime next week.

it isnt hard at all to swap out, hell i'm planning on doing stage1 cams early next year, but right now i just dont have time or the place to do it myself.

That exact thing happened to my car when i first bought it, I was lucky enough to break down right in the home depot parking lot.. so i just ran in, got a 2" threaded gas pipe fitting and threaded it into the intake, slid the hose over, Clamped it and i drove around on it just like that for about 3 months lol... ghetto but it worked!:nice:
