Hey guys whats goin on? Im new here, and new to mustangs for that... I just got my first mustang a week ago. Its an 03 GT 5 speed Centennial Edition, one of only 717 coupes made. So far it has a BBK fender well CAI, BBK 78mm throttle intake, cat-back flowmaster (Super 44's) and I am awaiting the arrival of my H&R Supersport lowering springs :). My future plans are 3.73 gears, SCT tuner, underdrive pulleys, trunk battery relocation, hurst short throw shifter, aluminum driveshaft and flywheel, and a spec stage one clutch. I'd appreciate any advice from experience on which mods are most well worth the money, what I should do first, and any other potential mods you would recommend. Thanks a lot and I hope you guys like my car!

I'd skip the relocation of the battery unless you're planning on doing some hard core racing. Battery relocations many times lead to problems down the line. You also don't need to spend money on an aluminum flywheel. If/when you replace the clutch just buy a resurfaced steel flywheel.

Sounds like you got a good start with the mods. I'd also recommend full length subframe connectors, new shocks/struts (Tokiko HP's are nice for a cruiser), a new mid-pipe (x or h-pipe), and a nice pair of cams.

Hey thanks a lot. Did you lose alot of gas milage with the cams? And as far as underdrive pullies, does the brand really matter in your experience? Ive heard good things about Steeda and BBK but idk if i can just go with cheaper ones and get the same results. Two more things... How much of a difference did you notice with the 3.73 gears. Was the increase in acceleration worth it considering the drop in highway mileage? And lastly, do you have a tuner for your car? Im debating b/w sct and diablosport. I heard sct's were better but idk if theyre worth the extra money. Thanks a lot

I just installed cams from a 99+ stang so the power difference was minimal. With a stage 1 or 2 cam (depending on how hard you are on your car) may decrease mileage slightly.

If you're going to buy UDP's buy Steeda's. They aren't the piggyback design which is good. They also have a built in dampener and are very well made.

Meh, my highway mileage didn't decrease that much. It really doesn't raise the RPM's much. With mixed city/hwy driving I usually get around 20 mpg's. She's a lot quicker with the 3.73's but I think if I did it over I'd have got 4.10's.

I don't have a tuner yet, but next spring I plan on buying a pair of stage 2 NPI N/A cams from MHS (IMOP the best place to buy cams) and once I have the cams I'll get a dyno tune.
 
Now I know there are a million threads about the 3.73 vs. 4.10s but since you have the 3.73's, why would you want the 4.10's instead? This has been my biggest debate and I keep going back and forth. Ive heard that with 4.10s, theres really no use for 1st gear, and the highway isnt that good (about 3000rpm at 75mph). What has your experience been with the 3.73's?
