my new pup

Well I would like to introduce everyone to my new pup. She's a 6 week old chocolate lab, and I named her Shelby. She is the most content little dog I have ever seen, she rode 25 minutes home in the car without freaking out at all, she just sat in my lap and hung out lol.

Here's a pic, sorry for the quality, I didn't want to scare her with flash and I couldn't get her to stay completely still for the picture lol.

Beautiful dog man. Always loved chocolate labs.

What are the planned mods? I programmed my cat to lay down, speak, roll over, and stand up on demand. So mods will come easy for that bad boy.

nice puppy......i had a black lab once...they are nice dogs...

Yea I like labs, my roomie in college had a black lab and so did my sister, so I've been around them quite a bit. Very nice, mild-mannered dogs...but they will bark when things happen, which is exactly what I want...merely a wake up call lol, I can take care of it from there with my 2nd amendment rights :D

In other words...."Never mind the dog. Beware of owner." ROCK ON!!!!! :flag:

Beautiful pup! I have a 7 year old chocolate lab named Duncan. He weighs 111 pounds right now (he lost a couple from his prime) and he's not fat. Get ready because these dogs can GROW! And they are super affectionate, mine still tries to crawl into my lap which was great when he was a pup but for obvious reasons is inconvenient now.

Make sure to give her a task; labs love doing work and if you give them something to do they are super easy to handle and train. But leave them alone for too long and they WILL get into trouble. They make great family dogs as well. This is my second lab and it won't be my last!

If you have any food or training questions PM me. I spent a lot of time doing research about these dogs.

Adam

edit: I see you already have the crate, thats a smart move!

Thanks guys, I'll snap a couple more pics this weekend.

Adam, I will be sure to ask you when I have any questions. I have read alot of good things about crate training, so I picked up a crate the day I got her. She is already training pretty well, like making it obvious when she needs to go outside, etc...

I was worried at first because she breathes fast, all the time, not just when nervous, even when she is awake. I took her to the vet for all her shots and everything yesterday and the vet did some tests and found nothing wrong with her heart or lungs. I have to keep an eye on it though, hopefully it'll fade away as she grows up.
