As some of you may know, I retired the mustang after four and a half hard years of daily driving. The Jersey winters have payed its toll and I now have a hole in my floor pan and a massive amount of rust in my shock tower. I had plans to paint it two tone (like 25th, he kinda got to it a little before me hehe). Buuut the rear started going and the clutch slips a bit now. I finally made the decision and bought a new car. I got a 1991 Taurus SHO Plus. Its got Koni Adjustables and Eibachs all around and is a really really fun car, minus the fact that its driven by the wrong set of tires. I plan on buying a new body for my mustang and swapping my motor into it and re painting it sometime in the next year. Any ways here's a few pics of my SHO. By the way I got it for 900 bucks.

Here are my paint plans for the Mustang once I get back into it.

PS I didn't copy 25th, I've had this idea for two years just school has gotten in the way of finances and time put towards doing it. :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

Not bad minus the paint. No biggie for me as I do paint and body work. Its got 162000 miles on it. Absolutely babied its whole life. Almost perfect interior, working AC, electronic climate control, sunroof. Its the perfect daily driver. Too bad the differentials like to blow up..................

COPY CAT!!!

J/K, good to hear your holding onto the 5.0. I thought you were gonna sell it, and I would hate to see that! I have always had a soft spot for SHOs... stick shift I assume? Dark Green SHO was the DD I always wanted when I was younger!

Yup its stick for sure. I got real close to parting it out but every part I have is what I want so if I wanted to redo it it would cost toooo much. I'm in love with the SHO but its aint no stang. lol

It's not all bad...i've had my ass handed to me on two occasions by two different SHO's while driving two different Mustangs..lol. Both times i just shook my head and said WTF and watched them drive away like i was sitting still.

25th look what you've started....:rlaugh: everybody wants to two tone there stang like yours and even along the same body line :dead:

LOL, i think it may have been around since before he did his, but it sure didn't hurt the popularity any. I used to be dead set on the mineral grey bottom and black top but it seems that everyone has it now so i've got another idea, and i'm not even mentioning it because i haven't seen it yet :D

Haha, I think Macn had the idea the same time or even before me. I can honestly say I can't think of a car I stole it from, just started in photoshop and ran with it. I'm sure Macn did the same thing. I do see a few two toned cars now but not a lot up where I live.

Also the SHOs are badass.. maybe Ill get one and copy you again... :D kidding!

I don't know, it's been around for a looooong time so who knows who really thought of the idea...it's just a paint job that really fits these cars nice so everyone likes it. For me though i had the idea a long long time ago to paint my Mustang mineral grey....i loved the color when Ford brought it out and i knew it would look awesome...well then a local guy pained his car:

DAMN....well he didn't steal the idea or anything, just beat me to it....Bullitt rims and all. Well crap, at least i can still do the black top/black bullitts theme!!!...

:bang: Well maybe i'll just go psycho looking with it and paint it satin black....seen it seen it seen it. So now i've got a theme cooked up that i haven't seen and i'm keeping it to myself before i jinx myself and see someone with it.

In order to fix it right, I would need to spend MANY MANY hours to do it right. I would know, I restore cars for a living. I dont like to half ass anything and I really dont have the time to do a heavy project like that. The body now has 246,000 miles on it and it shows. There are two stress cracks in the floor and from the torque boxes back is all surface rust. I figure I can get another stang with a clean straight solid body and yank the motor, weld the engine bay, clean and restore anything that needs it and put all my goodies from my first mustang into the new one. I also plan on building the drivetrain while Im at it.

Speaking of restoration projects, heres a project we are doing at the shop. These pics were from this summer. The car is painted with motor and trans in now.

An about the two tone idea, its not about who thought up the idea, its about who makes it look good. From day one I knew that body line would be perfect to two tone off of. Its all in the color combination.

25th, I love the new pics and am extremely jealous of you! lol One day we will cruise together in two tone lol BTW the SHO is probably going down to Myrtle next year. he he

Lol, LS-what when you finish it I will be jeleous... :D now use that as motivation to get it done.

Mac'n yeah the car actually looks a lot better than it did in MB. A lot of the loose ends were tied up, the paint was given the proper wet sand and buff, and I had time to actually clean it and get it looking good. I was rushed for MB, and figure next year there will be 10 two toned foxes, lol. Good to hear your still going though!

I saw that black and gold two tone car, and honestly it does nothing for me. The stripe, the light colored bottom, and the 17" black bullitts, just don't look right to me, but the concept I do like :D.
