Since i live in a small metro area i don't normally have to drive far this was my best stab at gas prices to help keep the cost down, i still drive the stang quite a bit, but sometimes its nice just to putt around town.

Its a 2006 Honda metropolitan it goes 40-45mph and gets 98mpg, take that oil companies

Hahaha, bad ass! I've been considering getting an oooooooooold scooter for cheap and fixing it up. My drive to work is 12 minutes, and the fastest road I go on is a 45mph zone for maybe half a mile. Might as well save gas, right?

That is exactly why i bought mine the max speed limit here is 40, it doesn't hurt, its nice to put gas in once every two weeks or so, i always fill er up with 93 octane. I did a lot of research before i bought one though. Mine is a 4 stroke and was later replaced by the ruckus, even though they have the same chassis, motor, ect. Some of the cheap *** bikes are only good for a year or so then the price of fixing parts becomes more than the bike. my buddy bought a JCL-50 he went a few weeks without riding it, when he started it the thing wouldn't run. took it to the shop and 250 later the bike was running again, so his bargain bike wasn't really a bargain. Just do a little bit of research you will be amazed what you find. I like not having to license or insure mine, i do have liability insurance and theft coverage though, scooters are a hot thing to steal right now

Even if gas was $10/gallon, I'd still rather drive my 20 mpg Mustang than ride a moped. Good for you though, should be a fun project to fix up

I would still be more inclined to buy an ooooold motorcycle and spare myself any ridicule. I've been itching for an early '80s Kawasaki Z1000, done up like a cafe bike.

Oh, and fat girls need love too

Bunch of my friends have scoots. They are all 160+ cc's built motors, do about 90, and sound nasty. One will be turbo soon.

The man that owns the Kawasaki dealership in my home town has an early 80's z1000 with an extended swingarm, slick, and TURBO on it. Circa 1984. It's sick.

After just buying my son a klx there last week I got a chance to eyeball the new Z1000. Not bad...

I'm sold where can I get one of these. My problem is that I can only ride it around town. My commute is about an hour with top speed for some people being 90 mph.

Yea i work in NTICU at a local hospital and everyone has been giving me grief for buying it, i normally stick to the non busy side roads, but i look at it this way at least i went out doing something fun. There is a 31 year old with a brain tumor in the unit that has 6 months to live, if my time is up its not up to me..... thanks for the compliments though.
smokin joe...i will post pictures of how well the beer fits in there lol

Sorry, I'm not driving anything that slow and small on the highway with these moron drivers. At least with a real motorcycle, you'll have the power and manuverability to get react. You get hit and all the money you save in gas won't fix you. Young and Idealistic, meet older and experienced.

I've got a couple friends that got those little scooters... they didn't drive them long.
