My official progress thread

I didn't see this thread in august - I remember when you first had it painted with that MR body kit nasty thing, and i remember posting in that thread about it.

I'm glad you ditched the front and rear, and went with a stalker and cobra front and rear! the car looks awesome! Good work with the project and keep this thread updated! Did you pull the nose off so you wouldn't damage it while you were working on the engine bay?

Yes I figured it would be alot easier to take the front end all apart to not damage it during the engine removal. I havent completly decided how Im going to proceed with the engine bay yet. My first project is to move all the wiring harneses into the fender wells and Im going to clean it all up and see how it turns out if I decide to paint it I will more than likely be filling all the holes up first so I will update the thread as I progress I got several months of cold snowy weather to work on it.

I don't normally like Verts but your looks awesome. I really like the personal touches that went into it. :nice:

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost to have the seats and door panels custom upholstered and were they done with Vinyl or Leather?

That Banshee Ram Air kit is awesome too. I actually passed on a chance to get one of those for my car about year ago (didn't have money at the time) and have been looking on ebay since for one with no luck. :(

Thanks for the comments The seats are in leather and it cost me about 800.00 the door panels were an additional 200 bux thats not really all that bad I dont think but if you want to know the truth im kinda over them already been thinking about changing them but thats for later right now im still working on the engine bay

I wish you luck on the Banshee I have about 1000.00 in that kit 3 or 4 years ago they are very hard to come by anymore

I powder coated some engine parts today here are a couple pics its kinda hard to show the quality of chrome powder coat so I took 1 with flash and 1 without. They look awsome in person. I really like the water tube it came out nice way better than painted black

The top of the engine is pretty much finished. Im thinking I should have went blue instead of black but it looks pretty good anyway.

Wow. Huge improvements! Car looks nice with those bumpers:nice:

I only wish that there was a light at the end on the tunnel. I been changing things on this car for about 13 years and it seems that everything I get one thing done Im ready to change something else. As soon as I get this engine and engine bay complete I wonder what I will do to it next.

Dont we all. I've changed my mind on so many things its not even funny. I probably wasted 300 bucks just in stuff I have changed my mind on stuff. Cars coming along real nicely. Powdercoated engine parts look real nice!!!

I only wish it were only 300 bux the body kit change probably cost me a few thousand bux by the time I bought the gaudy kit I had on it had it painted and then finally got the cervinis kit and had it painted. Im somewhat asshamed how much money I have spent on the car in the 13 years I have owned it all I will say is that I could nearly buy a brand new mustang if I had all that doe but the experience of all the changes probably make it all worth while. Now I cant wait to get the engine back together. I hope to be driving it again in the spring.

Being a fellow fox vert owner I almost puked when I saw those first two body kits, glad to see you toned it down and made the car look good and ditched those horrible clear tail lights, I LOVE the shaker hood and the powder coating looks incredible maybe sell that stocker and throw some power under the hood...

Im pretty ok with stocker I dont race it around its just a cruser to me If I was going to build a racer I would find a notch

Tell ya what, brother, I'm the last guy you will ever find that likes any bodykit, and I was never a huge convertable fan, but I love that hood, those taillights, the color, you have one nice ride- keep up the great work- and get used to wasting money on it, embrace the horror! If its done, you don't care anymore- its never done!:nice:

I decided to nix the black and powdercoated the upper intake and valve covers in ford blue instead of black I ran out of blue and have to wait until I get more to finish them but here is a valve cover that is done and since I had the black already I decided to add some lettering to them. It was kinda a long process cutting out all of the letters but I think it turned out pretty good. I will post the rest when I get them done. I cant wait for the weather to break so I can get this engine together and get some work done on the engine bay.
