As a complete mustang enthusiast, I became the proud father of a 1989 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 about 2 months ago (FIRST MUSTANG EVER). I took it out one morning (sunny day) to go to work, but by the time I had left it was pouring. Long story short...I took a turn, car lost traction.........and hit a pole :notnice: . My passenger side rear 1/4 panel is shot, luckily the door is still straight as well as my frame, but I need a new 1/4 panel. As I am sure you are all aware, they no longer make these for 1989's, and they are no piece of cake to just take off and replace. I was looking for any help/advice/guidance as to where i should go to try and find a replacement 1/4 panel. I am in the Bay area and have found what seem like a couple of good body shops that will do the work for a reasonable (still don't know if i would say reasonable) amount. Any help would be appreciated

IT shoud be easy...more than easy to find one at a junk yard, lots of times you can talk to them and they'll cut it out for you. You'll need a truck

That was my next step...Theres a pick n pull in Oakland that I can get to easily enough. I just need to bribe one of my truck driving friends to go for the ride.

I had a quick look on 50resto but couldn't find any body parts for an 89 mustang. Hopefully I can find one that isn't dinged to ***** at the junkyard. Thanks for the input everyone.

I've seen ads in 5.0 mag for a fox parts site www.foxresto.com, so you might try that.

As a side note, take it easy in the rain in a fox especially until you're used to the car. Even w/ loose dirt on the road, if you're in too low of a gear and hit the gas, you can kick the rear end around and lose control.
