Good luck with that. We have snow on the ground now and a big storm coming tonight...

its a fact that the car went a 30 flat with a bs old school suspension... and im pretty damn sure no one in a sticked backed cobra has cut a sub 40... prob wouldnt believe me that i know a guy with an NA 310 with UNported E7's and a stock spec'd cam running 11.teens on nitto drag radials.

Not really such a thing as BS old school suspension in drag racing, guys have been using the same basic concept for 30 years to hook, when you say BS old school suspension i think of monoleafs and slapper bars, which is a pretty odd setup for an 03 cobra.

Also, im pretty sure i know who your talking about, guy from JPC, runs in factory stock, which is no comparison to any street or even bracket car for that matter. We arent talking about who believes who here, there are ways to make anything fast nowadays. Tell that guy to take his factory stock car on a 100 mile cruise...

it was steeda non adjustable uppers, megabite JR lowers lakewood 50/50's with eibach springs out back stock front stuff with GT springs with 90/10's. alot better stuff out there that would have helped get it out the hole. we just took old school stuff that works. thats what i meant by BS old school stuff.

and yes... tommy godfrey. why wouldnt his set up compare to a street car. dont think there is anything off the wall about it.

actually just talked to him... your right... he couldnt drive it everyday. got some lightened internals in it

Did someone just try and use an NMRA Factory Stock Car car to try and say we wouldn't believe what he ran??

This weather is so God damn wacky! Yesterday I walk out with hat, gloves, scarf and winter coat and I'm still cold... today I wear the same and sweat my face off before I even get into the car. Screw the northeast, haha.

We got 3 or 4 inches overnight and it rained the rest of the damn day. If it's going to snow I want it to snow! Not this nasty wet mess.

Yeah I'm pretty familiar with factory stock stuff. There's not too much "factory", "stock" or street about it. Definitely not the type of car your average joe can build. Always been one of my favorite classes though, very impressive equipment.

Yes trying to slide a Factory Stock car into a debate as anything more than a race car with crappy parts is laughable.

I used to follow FS to the number, just cant grasp where the class has gone now.

My brothers car is FS legal, but a street car. It has been 11.86 @ 114 or so. Has some more in it, but the difference between a race FS car and a street one is huge!

I was at Atco last year about this time and everybody was doing bad. The temp was just above freezing. The ground was frozen and I couldn't hook up.

Don't expect good times.

Well, went to atco saturday, made progress, but still no 10.999, ran an 11.029 at 123.9 mph, not gonna get much closer than that. This was with my TKO back in the car, and with a 1.536 sixty footer. Cars got a little left in it, i think steeper gears would help it. but overall im happy with the way i closed out the season. I drove the balls off of it and im pretty sure the clutch dosent have mcuh time in it. I hot-lapped the car right after that pass and it went like 11.50 but the clutch was slipping BAD, i went back adjusted the cable in the pits, let it cool for a good 30 minutes, put a set of 26x10 ET streets on it and made a final banzai pass that spun the tires a little out of the hole.

Here is a pretty cool pic of my lifting a tire on the drag radials

Vids will be up later this week, there pretty crappy tho, as usuall, i need a good camera :smack:

Badass...

11.02 is damn close. Surprised you didn't get it on the Slicks! Should be easy to snag next season!

Thanks

those ET streets been sitting for a while, i did a decent burnout on them, but i think i should have hazed them a little longer to get some fresh rubber on them, and i was running them at 15pounds, i only made one pass on them so i didnt really give them much chance to myself dialed on them.

I was pumped when i saw that pic of me pulling the tire on the drag radails though

Here are a couple good pics of my buddy jesse's car, got a systemax kit with and e-cam, 130k stock shortblock and a 175 shot of dope car ran an 11.2 with a best MPH of 123
