my radios soo screwed

audio guys.. if you wanna hear some crazy crap, retard boy who had my car COMPLETELY wired it all f'd.. the left side runs on amp and the right runs on the radio wtf? then the tweeters.. only ones hooked up and the others are just f'd to hell i swear.. some people man.. question is.. what would you do.. its such a HUGGEE mess that i get confused thinking about it and then figure it out.. and if i dont think about it for a second i forget aagain.. sigh.. its all good stuff... just not hooked up

heres what i did. went to the junkyard and picked up the 2 clips that hook up to the back of the stock radio. then cut out all the wires he did and re-soldered the clips back on. then i bought one of those adapters for after market decks.

worked liek a charm, then for the amp i rewired it all myself and then sold my system and bought gears lol. realized 2 subs and an amp don't make me any faster

Rip all the crap out. The previous owner on my car did a nice number on my cars wiring. It really bugged me knowing it was there so I ended up pulling the dash and redoing alot of wiring.

I did this too for the radio...then I ripped out about 2 miles of speaker wire and miscellaneous crap that the other owner had in for the stereo. I completely re-wired the entire car (stereo related) and everything has been fine for over 2 years now.

Unfortunately it's very common to get a used car where some moron has created a rat's nest of the stereo wiring... really, stereos are simple enough to install you think people would bother to do it right...

Sounds like you really need to just start over and make sure everything is wired correctly, possibly run new wires if you have to, especially if you've got external amps in the system. If you're not very experienced with fixing this kind of problem you'd be better off taking it to a reputable stereo shop... and I emphasize reputable. Some of these small discount shops and big chain stores (Best Buy etc) will do hack jobs, since their stereos are sold so cheap, they have to make the bulk of their money by getting the job done as fast as possible.

If one halfs on the amp and one halfs on the radio then all that means is he has the RCAs hooked up to the amp but only x amount of speakers wired off the amp. is it only a two channel amp? You could tap into the wires coming off the amp but thats not very professional. Itll work. Your best bet would probably be to hook up the two rear speakers to the amp and leave it so the fronts are coming off the radio. As far as the tweeters, what are they running off of, radio or amp?

welll after i COMPELTELY ripped out all my interior i found the problem.. he bought a aftermarket installation kit and then wired it wrong.. the speaker part anyway.. and for my stereo and amps it uses the duel prong wires.. which already has 3 diff sets running from front to back and so just said screw his wiring and ran back from the speakers my own setup.. im done with the rear just now its up to get the tweeters and front's to work. Hes got pioneer cross overs that arent really hooked up lol I may get a set of 12's and a 1000 watt amp for 250 bucks llol already boxed and everything.. look nice once my seat deletes done. Anywho thanks for the help fellows

Pull out all the wires, buy new everything if needed, then re-wire the entire system. I woulda saved myself time by doing it the long way with my car.

well heres another question for you guys.. could i take like two head phones.. cut the wires and use the prong sides with long cords, wire them together and then plug one end into my ipod then the other into the mic port on my radio? I have a premier pioneer head unit and its got it.. just wonder if you think its a stupid idea

i figure on trying it with a cd player with them old tape to cd conversion things you used to stick in a tap player head unit lol if it fries it then its bad.. if not then i will risk seeing if it will lol
