i got tired of the air filter not fitting properly, so tweaked it a bit and then sealed the seams with butyl tape, and also shortened the hose on my march ram air kit.

All i can say is WOW! never thought it would make much of a difference but it really does at high speeds....
the car pulls MUCH harder in 5th gear than it did before, could tell a big difference from about 2500 to almost 5000 rpms and it was still pulling pretty good.

anyways, i've given the ram air kit a pretty bum rep, but it actually suprised me today, so i just thought i'd share.

anyways. wish i could get a measurable hp difference from this, cuz it seriously feels like maybe a 30hp difference over when it had "gaping holes" in the intake track... can't stress enough how impressed i am.

i know its a lot. and i'm not saying that it IS that big of a difference, but thats honestly how it feels, and it wouldn't surprise me if it really was. no real difference at all until around 170km/h but after that, it pulls WAY harder than it used to. i'm not just makin up numbers to sound cool. all my other mods i have done have not impressed me that much as far as feeling much of a hp difference. this one has. i would guess that my tb, smog removal, UD pullies, C&L intake tube, and MAF (all done at the same time) MAYBE added 10hp. i really don't think i'm exaggerating this at around 30hp.... but whatever. flame on.

I would be interested to see if your getting any boost at that speed do you have a vac/boost gauge?

prolly not but it would be neat to see what the effect is

Swat I was thinking. After what I think to be 100 mph, if I am translating that right, the wind velocity can get pretty severe. Might be seeing a little bit. MAYBE one pound.. doubt it though...

ok, well for all you imperial folk ... i'm talking about between about 105mph and 150mph where i notice the difference... no gauge or anything to go off of, but at that speed i think there would have to be some kind of pressure on the air going in.

OF COUSE NOT .... BUT, if i did, it would have been on a closed course, obviously. but the speedo only goes to 230km/h so after that it's just a guess of about 240+... (IF i were to ever think of doing such a thing)
