McALLEN, TX.
i checked my tps volatge this morning anf found out it was at 1.12.

can i adjust, i hear diffrent with the 94/95 model.

dont kno what to do since the regular should be .50 - .98 according to a shop manual.

has it gone bad? I TOOK IT OFF AND REALLY JUST NOTICED SOME WEIRD SHIFTING POINTS ON MY GEARS, dont know what that has to do with the tps.

how do i know when its time to buy a new one, very low on cash and dont want to spend where i dont need to.

If your CEL is not on, the adaptive control should be ratcheting your static reading. In other words, I'd not worry about the reading.

Good luck.

I just did the whole fix your surging idle procedure found on Muscular Mustangs, which includes cleaning the IAC, resetting base idle (mine was so low with the IAC unplugged it wouldnt stay running! explains why I used to stall out every now and then) and adjusting the tps voltage. My initial reading was 1.10 volts but I wasable to get it down to 1.03 with the minute amount of adjustments I had by just loosening the screws. I worked all day however and wasnt feeling motivated enough to remove it and elongate the holes. I guess that additional .05 will have to wait. Just out of curiosity, what method are you using to pull codes?

You have to read codes from the connection under the hood. The one under the dash isn't attached to anything in the 5.0 models. The 94-95 V6 models were OBDII, but the GT/Cobra were OBDI. The reason you were having weird shifting with your trans after taking it off is because the AODE needs the TPS input to determine whether to up/downshift, since it's electronically controlled. There's no TV cable on the AODE.

hey Victor, good to see you on here--great site w/ lots of nice guys that know their stuff!

there's a good write-up on how to adjust your tps voltage--hopefully someone will post the link up.
