I recently gave my wife something I had never tought of before. I'm sure your's likes backrubs as most do. So I gave her a half day massage visit at this local place, pretty nice upscale location, nothing shady going on there. It was about $200.. She gets pampered at all that jazz which the ladies really like...just a thought...

I second that. This sort of gift goes a long way. It's much appreciated.

Being into photography myself-does she have a Dslr? A macro, wide angle, filters, better case-stuff like that would make me quite happy. But, then again, I'm not the typical girl when it comes to gifts. I'm happy with a case of my favorite drying towels and some Meg's stuff. Got my smoked clears for Christmas two years ago and was happy as a clam....

I've given my wife a massage as a gift as well. She enjoyed it so much, that I did it again a few years later for Mother's Day. I called a spa near us and found out their rates. If you go this route, I would recommend getting her an hour-long massage. I actually got a gift certificate for a higher amount, so that she could get another service if she wanted--cut/style, manicure, pedicure, etc. You could also consider having a car pick her up and bring her home, so she can really relax, even getting to/from the spa. Sometimes spas offer champagne or wine as well, so she could indulge in that w/o having to drive. Several places near me offer chauffered Town Cars, but I have no idea about the rates.

Definitely a good call. A nice afternoon at the Spa and a dinner out on the town would make for a perfect present. Who knows what dessert would be that night...

Thanks, ya'll, for the ideas and replies. We have one these pretty nice day spas about a mile from home. I'll have to check into that. Although the old Mustang might be more fun, that's financially out of the question! ....I wish it wasn't!

If the spa idea doesn't work out; does your wife have any "loves" that she doesn't talk about a lot? One thing that my wife loves quite a bit is watching old movies; specifically musicals and old movies with "big name" actors and actresses. We are too cheap to get cable (spend that $90/monthand more on horses, kids and other diversions), so she doesn't get to watch A&E or AMC all weekend; but the local FOX or CBS stations will now and then play old movies for weekend filler and she's in heaven.

Mother's Day came this year, and we had no clue what to get her. She has many bathrobes and about 450 gallons in gift packs from Bath & Body Works, flowers die, candy gets eaten, gourmet coffees disappear too fast in our house, what to get, what to get. Then it hit me: three DVD's later (one for each kid); she had "State Fair", "East Side, West Side", and "Roman Holiday" added to her little collection.

Watched all three movies with her that day; and.... ummmm.... yeah; like 351carlo said
