According to Tara the seats in the Tibby must've been taken out of her dad's Porsche or a Mercedes! I test drove a 2005 Tiburon GT (not the SE) which has different seats that aren't quite as bolstered and do not like quite as comfy as the ones in her Tiburon do. I'll have to wait until a couple more weeks when I get there to find out.
Well, SHE drove a Mazda6, a Honda Civic Si, a Mustang GT, a 2003 Mach 1, some small Euro sport compact (Jetta perhaps?) and a Chevy econobox. Of all, the Mach 1 suited her best in terms of muscle and style (since a '69 grabber blue 429 Mach 1 is her dream car anyway) but the dealer thought the Mach was worth $24,500 (!!!!) and wouldn't sell it for a dime less, even though my wife and I have way above excellent credit (730+ FICO) and she was offering $7,500 down! Can you believe that? Craziness. She woulda bought it, had the price been more like $20K where it belongs.
ANYWAY, no, we didn't drive a WRX (neither of us did). Just straight up don't care for the looks of it. I think it looks like an overgrown matchbox car. I did drive the Evolution 8 which, while a wonderful car, was dreadfully expensive and for all the speed it was capable of, it didn't feel as fast as even a slower car, like a GT or a Mach. Torque moves it, right...
So she drove several cars before deciding on the Tibby. The Tiburon was right on price, equipment, looks, color, style, and comfort and is a lot of fun to drive. It's got McPheron shocks and struts and they're wonderfully sporty when they need to be, but are capable of being refined and dignified on rough roads (TEXAS SUCKS).
For the money it's such a great car. I really am surprised lately by the Korean market vehicles. Really!
