Hey guys,

I am not really sure which MAF I have here. It has ford electronics and the part number points to 1991, but this came off a blown application with 30#'s. Are lightning MAF's metal?

Thanks,

Eric

The housing looks like a stocker to me, too. Here's a pic from a '94 '95 GT MAF

Notice how the post running down the inside center of the MAF is identical to the one in your picture, even with that little bump/ protrusion on the lower right side of the post? So, I think it's either a stock mustang MAF housing, or at least a production ford housing. How wide is it across? I think the stock fox-body MAFs measured 58mm.

It's a mismatched Frankenstein meter....

The sensor is the same one used on a Fox 5.0L from the factory... you know the one that was only 55mm...

The housing looks like a 70mm unit (similar to the 94-94 Mustang), but there are several housing sizes that used the same design features. You'll have to measure to make sure.

I've never seen that sensor on a housing like that. Without a custom tune, I don't see how this combo could run well....

What year/model was this unit used on?
Did the car have a custom tune via the J3 chip/port?
I'd really like to know more about the vehicle that was running with this meter....

I bought this meter as part of an Vortech S-trim package deal. I don't have the custom tune that went with it, but I do have the 30# injectors, which apparently was used with this combo.

If anyone is interested in the meter or injectors, please PM me.

Thanks,

Eric

It's a ground polished stock MAF tube. That's what it looks like.It would explain why I can't see any date codes stamped on that tube.I've done all sorts of aluminum engine parts. My intake plenum looked like that meter tube.
