N-91 Cam work good?

Ive got SRP .30 over pistions in my short block, going to be using Twisted wedge heads and a ported and polished upper and lower cobra intake (flows like a track heat). DO you think a N-91 cam would work good with it, got a buddy that has one. Its the 6900rpm one. Heres the specs on it. 240 @.050 intake and 248 @ .050 .576 .576 110 THink thats over kill for my combo? I want to make it run good on motor and also run a 125-200 shot on it. Anybody runing this cam right now? The car wont be a daily driver but it will see alot of street action though, wondering how the drivablity would be with it.

I would call Rick Anderson to find out what he would recommend.

Idle quality will be pretty low, at a typical rpm of 7-800 rpm. You may need to put the idel up in the 1000+ range.

I'm sure that cam's powerband is in the 7,000 rpm range. Just a guess, but I'm sure it can be found around on the internet.

This is if it clears those pistons:shrug:

Rick Anderson recommends that N-91 cam for high compression, 7,300 rpm, with 4.88 gears...lol on a 302.

The trick flow stage 1 is a good cam for what you are doing and matches well with the 302 induction needs for a good budget. It is very popular actually:)

Yeah the N-61 would make more power than the trickflow stage 1 cam:nice:

The N-61 is designed for aftermarket or notched stock pistons. A shift point around 6,200-6,500 and with the powerband between: 2,500 and 6,500 RPM. Get some good valve springs to match, in which www.andersonfordmotorsport.com can help you with.

im runnning teh N91 cam and i have had no problem with it ona daily driving. i have my RPM at around 950 and it idles fine. i popped out 316 rwhp on motor with my set up

Wheres the rest of the 80hp you should be making with that combo?

Most combo's using those parts I see do 375-400hp.

I wouldn't recommend the tfs stg 1 either. I used it for a few years and it was nothing special. The N-61 Rick recommended will work well. You'll need at least 4.10 gears. I like the N-61, we use it in my boys car.

I ran the N-61 on an old 302 combo with a 3:73 gear, it ran very well but more gear would have been a huge help at the track since I was only trapping around 5200rpm. My car made 340RWHP on 7cyl's..lol Never went back for a clean pull with all 8. My best pass was a 11.7x @ 116.8mph, 1.601 60ft I believe... I made power up into the 6500-6600 range, it had a nice curve but the power dropped off pretty quick once it peaked, same goes for the N-71.

If you do not want to notch the pistons (although most aftermarket pistons should allow the clearance you need) will the N-41 is a good cam, otherwise a true custom cam from Flowtech Induction would be a good choice, and money well spent.
