N/A build on fresh stock 302

Hello, I have a 91 gt with very healthy stock 302. I have been researching different ways and options to get to the 300hp range. Would I need to change alot on the bottom end?

I am new to alot of this still trying to learn everything and wrap my head around it. The list below is what i have found could work. My other thought would be how reliable it would be I drive the car usually at least once a week, every once and a while I take it to autox. Thanks!

Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Heads 170cc
TF stage 1 cam
Accuafab 70MM TB
24# INJ.
Pro-M 75MM MAF
Comp Cam 1.6 RR
Edelbrock Performer Intake

Super clean! very nice. For a H/C/I setup like you have picked out, you wouldn't need to do anything to the bottom end. They are known to handle roughly 500hp and its the block that splits not necessarily the internal components failing. The TrickFlow heads and stage 1 Cam should also work with the stock pistons.

That sounds like a good start, clay the valves to the pistons to check for PTV (Piston To Valve) clearance. I built my 1990, 302 with the stock TRW forged pistons and a TFS stage one. The valve reliefs on my pistons are smaller and I double checked for my flotek heads with 1.90 intake valves. I came out good at over 0.150".

I have a very similar setup. Mine makes 314/349. The stock bottom end should be good for those mods.

That combo is pretty common on a stock short block and it holds up fine if you keep the rpm sane. Bigger worry is fuel and tune. 24s and a 75mm MAF need a matching tune or a calibrated MAF, and I'd go with a 255 pump so it isn't running out of fuel up top. Price the whole list out before you start buying, the little stuff like gaskets, pushrods and the tune adds up fast. I track mine in Gearstrack as I buy, a spreadsheet works too.
