... I'm thinking of running a plate system this summer if i find myself out of debt (somehow)... Now, my dad's car runs nitrous, but he only got his fuel tank sumped because his mechanic swore by it... i was wondering, is it 100% necessary to sump the tank when running nitrous? Yeah, right?

Nope, not necessary. I don't know your setup off hand, but if it's a stockish/mild build, you'll be more than set with the stock tank. Probably wouldn't even need to upgrade the fuel lines to a larger size, but depending on how big of a shot you're going to use, a larger pump would definitely be helpful. I'd probably go no less than a 190 lph pump, but probably a 255 lph, just to make sure to have a good fuel reserve. Especially with a plate system, since it should have its own fuel jets.

Well i was thinking the nos power shot.. comes with a preset of 125 hp.. it was either that or the super power shot with adjustable jets.. my only issue with that is that even though i'm 18, i'm mature enough to know that if i were to give myself an inch wit the capabilities of taking that foot, i'd go for the foot, regardless... basically, i think a 125 shot is safe and won't break anything. however, if i have the capability to go up to 175, i'd be the dumb ass who does it and ****s all of his **** up.. so i think keeping it at a straight 125 is a medium shot that shouldn't do much harm on the motor. Yeah, i'll have to see what kind of pump i'm running right now because i honestly have no idea. the car has ran nos before and the guy who owned it before me was honestly too stupid to NOT downgrade to a smaller fuel pump.. if you listen to my video, the thing is definitely a monster. but i'll certainly check to see what i was running.

With a 125 shot I would upgrade the pump if it hasn't already been done. Might as well go with a 255 lph pump if your gonna swap it.

Also don't forget to include things like a window switch and if you can swing it a bottle heater as well.

Now, what about timing? i know you have to retard the timing in order to use Nitrous, but what is a solution to being able to run on/off the bottle with the same timing? (or without having to go out, lift the hood, and take a timing light to it)... Do you guys seriously get out and retard your timing every time you bring on the bottle?

Either get a msd spark retard box, or get a tweecer/pms.
this would work for you if you already have a msd ignition
