I need some advice regarding what I should have Ford do and what I should have others/myself do as far as servicing. This breaks down into a few catagories.
My 2000 GT is around 70,000 miles. I just had the intake manifold replaced about 4,000 miles ago because of a blown coolant crossover (done at an extremely reduced price based on a Police Interceptor recall on this part).
Now, my coolant light is occasionally coming back on, so I need to take it in for that.
Above this, I am overdue for a complete diagnostic of the car. Plugs were changed at 30,000. Oil/filter is always changed by me. Air filter is replaced with a K&N and is cleaned. Tranny fluid was changed at about 30,000 with a 4.10 install. Beyond that, I need everything else inspected. I know I need new brakes.
What needs to be done, what should I have Ford do, and what should I have others do? Some of Ford's quotes seem high (new pads and rotor resurface - $475.00). Any help is appreciated.
