need a little help

IIRC, those pesky bolts are 8 or 10 mm. i used one of those ratcheting box end wrenches to get them out. then after that, i had to pull the console anyhow, since the front shifter bolts (13MM, IIRC) were seized in. with the console in place, i could not decently get a 3/8 ratchet (and extensions and swivels) onto the bolt.

so try a ratcheting box end, and if you have to pull the console, it is not hard. i used the opportunity to make a black vinyl boot around my ebrake (the space around the lever is open and ugly).

i used a ratcheting wrench as well. i did not have to remove the console, everything went well. the steel bezel is a PIA but will come out with a finese. good luck man--you will love the shifter.
