need advice on compression ratio and cam for street engine running boost

8-9:1 would be pretty boost friendly. Keep in mind the supporting mods too. Bigger injectors & MAF and fuel pump ect. I have the E303 cam and its working fine for me. I was getting about 20mpg before I started the teardown for the turbo install. I’ve heard that computer controlled cars need about 112-114 lobe separation on the cam. I would also recommend an air fuel ratio gauge & a way to tune the car like the TWEECER RT. I say bigger MAF because my 308 was able to peg the stock MAF as an NA car. I got the kit that comes with the 90mm LMAF & 42 lb injectors from ford racing. I have only hit 4 volts on the LMAF at WOT as an NA car so should have plenty room for boost. My car also made a road trip from Ky to Ga. about 500 miles with no issue except the idler pulley went out. It should have been changed before the trip though. They say there is no replacement for displacement but, there is an equalizer, BOOST! Whichever you chose to build, get good quality internals. Forged pistons & probably better rods. I reused my rods but from what I hear, I will probably regret going cheap there once I get the turbo in.

ok. I dont know a lot about carbs or superchargers but, the F303cam still gives me about 15+ on a vac gauge at idle & my power brakes work good. You wont have to worry about a MAF but, I think the wider lobe separation is good for boosted aplications because there is very little overlap. Even though Im going with a turbo, the old school roots style superchargers look & sound really cool. have fun.
