I might of found me an engine. But has high miles on it. The thing is, it comes from a Lincoln MarkVII so you know it was some old fart driving that thing.

Which is better :

A 150k engine from a Mustang, which you know it got beaten the chit out of it all its life

or

A 200K engine from a Lincoln MarkVII, which was 90%sure babied all the time by some old guy.

I could get this longblock for 500$ (maybe even 400$). I heard it running and idles like new and doesnt puff any kind of smoke what so ever.

The H.O would be better base to start with, but the Mark VII could be decent, and for the price not bad at all really, either way.

My 302 had 270,000kms and wasn't from a Mustang. When I sent the crankshaft to get checked, it was still in perfect shape. Connecting rod endplay also within specs. Also have standard sized pistons in (just honed the cylinder walls a little). My ring endgaps are within factory specs.

Just get the cheapest block since you're selling the car anyway (or do a compression check and take the best engine). But I wouldn't worry about the little 302, they are tough little engines, unless you got some NOS... sorry :$

Get the Lincoln motor. Just beware that they were speed density until 92 I think where the stang switched over to Mass Air in 89 (may want to double check).
