Need advice......

Need advice......buying a 306

Buying a motor, I don't think timeframes and good common sense will come up on a search :nice:
306 Long block, Fcam, GT 40 Heads, Heads have been oringed and JE forged pistons. Comes complete w/o intake, fuel injects, etc etc, Front cover, water pump and oil pan all come with.
The issue or question I am having is that the motor has been sitting for the past two years. The guy said it was built to run w/nitrous (but of course he never did  and he only ran it for one season at the track)

Im getting the motor for a what seems to be a VERY good deal, underneath 500 bucks.....My question is am I shooting myself in the foot with this motor, he said he's taken good care of it but..........you never know until you fire her up. Also would a built AOD work with this cam? I was reading that a T5 will work better.
Thanks and sorry for all the goof questions, but hell someone's gotta ask :nice:

Squirt some WD-40 into the spark plug holes to lube up the cylinders. Go back the next day and try to manually turn the engine over to see if it isn't siezed up. There should be some degree of resistance from compression, but not enough to stop you from turning it.
