Need exhaust advice... want to change current setup.

My 90 lx has was purchased with an off road pipe, no cats or mufflers. It has bbs headers on it and i was wondering what I needed to convert the car to have at least the cats. I live in virginia so i don't know what they require to pass inspection as I just moved here from NY and i want the least hassle possible with the garage.

If you don't need cats don't put them on, the cat h/x pipes are about three times as expensive.

i just checked, car does have mufflers and they don't do emmisions here so i might not need the cats anyway. thanks.

i am a virginia inspector and to be by the book legal you will need a catted h-pipe and tailpipes that go to the rear of the car or atleast exit the body past the rear axle.shorty headers are ok as long as they have any required smog stuff still attatched.long tubes are a nono on any car that has cats unless the cats remain in the stock location.but as everybody knows there is always a good ole boy that doesn't care and will slap a sticker on anything.
