Need Help ASAP PRETTY PLEASE

yesterday I hit a 90 degree corner at a pretty high rate of speed. Then engine light came on. I was 2 blocks from home so home I went. I have checked the oil. Re-tightened the gas cap. And now used my predator (first time for me) to check for error codes. It says none.

When I bought the car I was told the 91 octane tune was installed (predator came with car).

Anyway I'm at a loss right now.

Car is pretty much stock as far as the engine is concerned. slp loudmouths, 91 octane tune, that's it! I'm sitting by the computer waiting for a few suggestions before I make a decision. THANKS FOR ANY HELP!

OK I had decided to disconnet the negative battery cable for 10 min to reset things and see if it happens again. But first for good measure I decided to run diagnostics with my predator again. This time we have ERROR CODES:

P0579 CRUISE CONTROL multifunction input A circuit

P2106 Throttle Actuator system forced limited power

P2135 THROTTLE/PEDAL Position sensor switch A/B voltage

so wtf.... I think I'm going to try to get ahold of diablosport and see if they can be of any assistance.

any advice would be helpful.

OK OK OK we can stop the literal FLOOD of help on this one.

After talking with a buddy who runs a local dyno shop. We decided there was a pretty good chance it was a glitch and not real error.

He said it sounded to him like basically it was saying it didn't know where the throttle was, therefore cruise control didn't work and it would put itself in limp home mode. I took it around the block and cruise worked fine. Also it was definately not limping home.

So I disconnected the negative battery post for 15 minutes and reconnected. Voila... No More Engine light. Ran around the block fine. We shall see!

Hmmm. Sounds odd. I'd take the car into the dealer next time, let them check it out.

Also, sorry you posted and 2 hours later, no-one had resolved this for you. I myself would have been right on it, but posting on this forum pays less than it used to (no, wait, it's the same - $0) and what with Xmas coming and all, I really need to not lose my job right now.

I'm guessing you bought the car used? It should still be under warranty, so I highly recommend getting it checked out at the dealer next time you get those codes. Hazarding a guess that the codes were thrown up in error is risky, especially if no-one looked into the possible cause (did your buddy even look at the car?). The fact that the codes are no longer there simply means you haven't pushed the car into recreating the original problem, after clearing the codes out by resetting the computer.

Hopefully it's something you can get fixed under warranty.

ps, next time you realize peeps aren't helping out in a timely fashion, you may want to try getting a news bulletin posted on tv. Hopefully this'll address the unforgivably slothful response rate!

still running strong. I'm not particularly worried as none of the codes sound like they could cause any real engine damage, just inconvenience and perhaps strand me.

If it happens again I'll put the factory tune back on and take it in to the dealership.
