Hi I’m redoing my cooling system in my mustang and I think I just hit a massive brick wall. I can see the part that holds the coolant temperature sensor looks like it’s in its last legs. I can’t find it anywhere!

Idk if I’m just looking up the wrong words or whatever I will attach photos it’s the really rusted out part.

85 V8 auto IIRC has CFI so it needs the coolant temp sensor and the stick V8 had a carb, no coolant sensor, I think........ Anyway the best I could do ya is suggest the 86 up heater tube that run down the intake to the firewall and shorten up the tube to fit your application.
I am still looking though.

Update: I looked at and it still seemed like it still had its structure integrity intact so I figured I might as well sand down as close to metal as I could and clean it off.

Came out pretty well I didn’t want to go to far cuz if I messed up I’m screwed but I think I was able to age it back by about 20 years basically. Will definitely be on the lookout for this part and this should buy me more than enough time.
